I wonder if the Blue Flame Helspont has or is after is in relation to the blue flame Paul Levitz introduced in his Legion run right before the DCnU hit. Either way, I think Helspont is a notch above Annihilus.

I wouldn't think so, but I dropped Supes' book before Giffen and co were slated to take over so I've no idea if they've upped his game or not. The only DCnU stuff I still get is Blue Beetle and Animal Man.

Superman currently has more than enough appearances to have established that he's done nothing to suggest he can take on Quasar and Nova simultaneously, much less wreck them to kibbles and bits like Annihilus did.

And from the OP's scan, this is Annihilus with Q-Bands. Helspont beating down Superman isn't elevating him up to Annihilus' level especially not after seeing how he fared against Grifter right afterwards.
