Second, I did not know Hyrule Historia said anything about the Master Sword dispelling magic. So I went looking and, what do you know, it does. Looks like I was wrong there, the Master Sword actually does have statements saying it dispels magic. So, I hereby stand corrected on this matter and thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I purchased the HH in preparation for the battlezone that was not to be.
But like you said it dispels only evil magic or curses which you said. This makes sense coupled with the game.

Hyrule Historia confirms the Blade of Evil's bane is also effective against non-evil. Quan argues it is only effective against evil.
