I said in the Superman thread that the only reason this movie will not make a Billion (or close to it) is because of the bad taste Superman Returns left.
But then a sequel likely will make that kind of money. Just like with The Dark Knight doing so well being the first sequel to Batman Begins, which was arguably a better movie but didn't make anywhere near as much due to the bad taste Batman & Robin left years earlier Imo.

It's on track to do at least 750, just like TASM. This is depending on WOM, obviously. If this is a great movie, the sequel will obviously do more.

Agreed I don't think MOS will make Dark Knight/Dark Knight Rises/Avengers/Iron Man 3 type of money.. I suspect it will only make around $400-$500 which will make WB happy

Yeah, plus Superman Returns didn't even benefit from social media sites that helps films today. Or instant review sites like Yahoo or Rotten Tomatoes.

That Green Tomato meter saves me a lot of money...and heart ache. I saw the meter for Transformers 2 and decided to go see it anyways since the first movie was good. Biggest mistake EVER! One of the stupidest movie I've seen and one I almost [should have] walked out on.

Not everyone has the same opinion, obviously. There are a few critics that has the same type of movies I like and usually are spot on. It's not unheard of.
