Iron Man 3 vs Man of Steel

Started by Golgo1339 pages

I doubt it will, but sometimes the box office can be unpredictable.

The safe bet is IM3, but I think the better movie will be Man of Steel. Unless they do a ridiculous changes to his origin or some dumb twist, a solid Superman story with a lot of action would put it miles ahead of IM3. Funny thing is IM3 had a lot of action/explosion, yet it lacked Iron Man action (i.e. tank missiles, laser beams, combat flight sequences, etc.). IM 3 = SR

IM 3 wasn't THAT bad. It had some weak points in the plot, but it was still very enjoyable.

Robinov thinks MOS will be WB's biggest hit.

Doubtful.

Yeah IM3 wasn't bad. Certianly not SR bad.. But it was disappointing.

Box Office is difficult to predict. It's certainly not always down to quality. If it was the new Star Trek would be on it's way to making a Billion.

No, that's based on YOUR opinion. Many people obviously enjoyed IM3; certainly enough to raise it to the 1Billion category. Star Trek was great, but I also enjoyed IM3 as much. Just because you believe one is inferior to the other, does not mean you speak for the majority. If anything, it means the opposite.

Whatever dude.

You go on about TDK only making over a Billion because Heath died. But then you expect everyone to believe that IM3 was amazing simply because it surpassed a Billion.

And if anyone disagrees with that ITS JUST THEIR OPINION!

Just look at people's comments on these boards. At least half the people commenting were disappointed by it.

So it's not just MY OPINION.

A) That's not what I said. I said a big boon to TDK was the hype around ledger and his performance/death. That's not the only reason it made what it did. It was a genuinely GREAT movie, not just comic movie. I have no hate for TDK, despite what you may think.

B) I never said it was simply amazing. But I did say it was a good movie, and that it made over 1 Billion dollars. If you read what I said about it, I was even a bit disappointed with the Mandarin decision. But I still think it was a GOOD movie, really good even. Enjoyable and funny. Good action.

C) And "Half the people on these boards" being disappointed with it is not accurate. And also, even if half the people on KMC forums were disappointed with it, that doesn't mean the general populace was.

Well apart from Point C we pretty much agree. I liked the movie overall, but was disappointed by the twist. And I was mega hyped for the film as well. Saw it on the first day.

You just seem to get over defensive over Marvel made movies which leads you to pointlessly argue with people who are also enjoying the great work Marvel studios has done.

Exactly. People acting like their opinion supercedes factual box office dollars is ridiculous and needs to stop.

And you thinking Box Office directly equates movie quality and entertainment value is completely ludicrous. Just look at how well rubbish like Spiderman 3 did.

Whilst no one's even claiming IM3 was a bad movie.

Looks like MOS will be released this summer in China.

I suppose you'll get an orgasm from Superman getting pussy-beaten the shit out of him by Faora?

No shame in denying it, I'll be cumming myself.

Frankly, yes. The idea that the film's gross is diretly related to its quality is utterly hilarious.

😆 😆 😆 😆

of course box office is a great measure of success however assuming that a higher box office = better quality is laughable at best.

Some people seem to be confusing quality with entertainment/ enjoyment value.

A film can be so low budget and lacking in quality and the actors/actresses can suck balls but still be entertaining and enjoyable to the masses that it can rack in the dollars.

On the other hand, a high budget movie with great quality can come sometimes tank at the box office.

to site an example, "A Few Good Men" is one hell of a well made movie with depth. But it will mostly appeal to people who like to think and such. Try showing that to the kids of today and they'll go "da crap is dat?! what da hell? when do dey kung fu?"
