He's too busy looking at German shit-porn on his iDevice to respond right now.

Here's some salt for your wounds:

This argument fails to me.

You paint them as hypocrites but that is not really what is happening.

If you are going to push a console that works like a PC, acts like a PC, has requirements to operate like a PC, why not just forgo the console and play your games on PC?

"Always on connection? **** you: I'm going to PC: the original and better 'always on connection' console."

XBOX One doesn't have always on connection. It needs one every 24 hours. So if you don't have Internet your screwed which I do think sucks.

But most people bitching are using the Internet to ***** so they should be ok.

While only needing to be connected once a day is more forgiving than always having to be online, again one must ask, what's the reason for this?

I had a problem with Diablo III and the online bullshit. There were issues with it, as well, specifically tied into the "always on".

And having to connect once every 24 hours is even more bullshit. Why just once every 24? Why push that annoyance onto the gamers? Why not never?

Why not make it to where you can choose if you want to go online for a game to play online rather than forcing it? Makes more sense to do it that way. It is also more user friendly.

I agree if the XBOX One required to be always on. That would be brutal and not good for the company. That I agree on.

I remember reading that connecting every 24 hours is for a license check on your installed games.

I think people have an issues because it's required and not because it's a nuisance. For people who don't have Internet, I can understand why they would be frustrated. But for people who comment online, I don't see it being an issue.

Why? Because they are using the Internet to do things and if your connection goes down for more than 24 hours then you should complain to the ISP providing you the service and not MS.

M-my Mac can play Black Ops 1 now! And maybe Sim City later this year ✅

Bardock, your retort?

As for the Windows love, I'll just let time take care of that. Remember Amiga? Yeah, me neither.

Sigh.

But 24 hour check-ins are good?

In other words, I'm suspected as a pirate and you should come check on me on a daily basis to make sure I'm a good little boy. Where's the trust again?

I don't know what you think it is but from where I come from, we call it disrespect the fact they even did it.

Why? Because they are using the Internet to do things and if your connection goes down for more than 24 hours then you should complain to the ISP providing you the service and not MS.

And while I wait for my connection to get fixed or find a different provider, I'll just play some games to pass the time. Oh wait.

That's what it is used for? License check? Holy ****, that's even worse! One time is all that is needed for that. And that should be only if the person want's to play online with the game.

Edit -

Yes, this guy is right. My ISP is Cox Cable and they are rated as one of the more reliable cable providers in the US. It goes down at least once a month and it specifically goes down during the times I am wanting to play video games on my PC or consoles. The online check in thing is quite a nuiscance if your game is one of those that must be played online (like Farcry 3 for the PC or Blackops 2). So, yes, I agree that even onetime is enough to be an annoyance/dissuade me from buying a next-gen console. Seriously, I could not be more butthurt about this online shit. Even if just once, that's enough for me to just stick to PC gaming: if I'm going to get ****ed in the ass, why not get ****ed in the ass by a tranny that is gorgeous? 😄

Well, it was a metaphor and not to be taken literally. 😠

Here, use this one: if I am going to be forced to eat something when I have no room left to eat, make sure it is some delicious chocolate-swirled cheesecake rather than toasted grubs.

That kinect is tougher than it looks

Student overseas? Somebody who travels overseas?

They would probably have better Internet than people in the States. And I'm hoping if you are travelling, your doing something else than playing XBOX.

Smas grasping at straws.

How likely is it that MS will announce that they won't put DRM into the One tomorrow?

I sincerely hope Microsoft is paying you. You work too hard to do this for free.

Was thinking the same thing lol.

Not a chance. They are committed to piss off everyone that cares.

I'm not sure, but I think Nintendo lost money this FY. Some say they made a profit, but they made a 36 billion yen operating loss.
