My man. 313

This whole resolution fiasco is annoying the hell out of me. So the Wii U and PS4 have 1080p while the Xbox One doesn't. As much as Microsoft makes me wish they'd install a neck for the console I can strangle and as much as I love the criticism it faces, even I believe this is bullshit. I barely use the 1080p on my 360 so why should I give a flying feather if it doesn't have that anymore? Bloody perfectionists...

Woah woah woah.....the XBOX One can do 1080p. It's the games that are being released on launch day that are not doing 1080p.

I agree with you. It does't really matter in the end. The games are going to look fantastic but if people are expecting a huge leap forward compared to previous generations, they are going to be disappointed.

It's strange as well. Gamers have no memory at all. This same thing happened last time too. Why are people surprised that launch day games are not looking so hot compared to expectations....It's bound to happen. Give this new generation 2-3 years before we see games using the consoles fully.

Also, CoD:Ghosts in 1080p and according to reviewers, it has major framerate issues.

The PC version has the same issues:http://mp1st.com/2013/11/08/call-duty-ghosts-pc-fix-mouse-acceleration-fps-drops-stuttering/?utm_source. It's not the PS4, it's the game itself.

Is it confirmed that Wii U can do 1080p?

I appreciated this kind of discussion. Nobody has time to go through gamespot or IGN posts to find these gems. Don't die on me, KMC: I still need you!!!!

Everyone should be sure to take the performance of the launch titles with a grain of salt. Xbox One could catch up to the PS4 if they are able to fulfill the promise of cloud processing in the future.

Also, if graphics are such big deal, the PS3 would of destroyed the Wii and 360, the XBOX would of destroyed the PS2 and GameCube. I also think the N64 was more powerful than the PS1...but I'm not sure on that one.

Aside from first party developers on the PS4, I will wonder how much better the graphics will be if the the primary console of development is Xbox One.

That's the big driver, right there. What system will end up being the primary console of development this gen for cross platform games will make a difference.

It was. Significantly so. There was such a difference it was like the difference between two generations.

Going by polygons at the same settings, N64 could render more than 3 times the amount. The CPU, semi-related, was also 3x faster. The N64 also took advantage of a new type of RAM called RAMBUS which was a breakthrough technology, at the time.

Yeah, I wasn't sure.

But it does prove my point that graphics doesn't mean top selling console.

Also, I would be surprised if XBOX One is not the primary console of development unless are alot lower.

Does anyone else not see how the PS4 and One are a significant step up in graphics from the PS3 and 360?

What makes you think Xbox will be the primary console of development next gen?

I assumed it would be PS4 because from what I've heard the PS4 is easier to develop for, and that seems to be the driving force behind whether a console is the one primarily used for development or not.

I didn't know the PS4 was easier to develop.

I'm just guessing. I would think it would be easier to develop for the less powerful machine.

Well, from what I understand they're very similar except for one thing - Xbox One has ESRAM which supposedly complicates things for developers. From what I've heard the early launch games aren't even utilizing the ESRAM, which is why there's been a discrepancy in graphical performance as has been reported. It's been called this generations potential Cell processor.

Well, PlayStation 4 is not strictly about games. I mean, look around this room right now and you’ll see all the different things that you can do that are not games, like the Hulu and the Netflix and all of those things.

It’s just that when we go out and we talk about it, we talk about it as primarily a game console. And by the way, it does those other things too.

We don’t go out there and say, 'hey, here’s a box you can watch TV on.'

BUUUUUUUUUUUUURN!

Sounds like a rough start for PS4. A lot of systems are bricking, and apparently the software isn't up to snuff. Presentation isn't very good. Luckily, that's something that can be fixed through patches. The PS4 has potential for the future, but it's nothing great yet.
