Thor: The Dark World

He is. As far as the movies are concerned anyway. But thankfully with First Class they've made the effort to move away from that idea. And as it turned out it was the Best X-Men movie by far.

I was more talking about how Wolverine's popularity isn't equalled by most of the other X-Men.

Like Marwash said, Aquaman would be far more well known than most x-men, with only few exceptions. Even with the ignorance of his powers to an extent, they still know Aquaman as a concept.

if that was all he was saying, it wouldn't be an issue.

wolverine =/= x-men.

Nah.

The truth doesn't always come with a punch line.

Aquaman is stupid though. There are popular X-Men besides Wolvie. Cyclops, Prof. X, Jean Grey, Rogue, Gambit, etc. Hell, the 90s was chock full of X-Men who aren't even in the movies yet, like Bishop, Jubilee, etc.

You just don't say that to Pr.

Faux pas?

So is Kurse dead?

Better than the first, climax may be one of greatest in super hero movies and movies.
Clearly damn overreaction this movie would suck because iron man 3 sucked and had a egregious screw up of mandarin.

The 90's X-Men series was a ratings winner for 5 years.
When I moved in with three girls I was surprised when they mentioned how much they loved the series. Even more surprised when their friends felt the same. The loved Gambit and Rogue and could quote characters.

Superman and Batman may have the advantage of having internationally successful films early on in the years but times change. Fads come and go. Marvel characters are more popular than some of you may think, and more appreciated.

Definitely. An entire generation is growing up with marvel characters as their staple heroes due to the success of Avengers. We see the ruboff effect on Thor 2 and Iron Man 3.

It's a shame the films didn't follow in the footsteps of that much loved cartoon.

Tbh Only Spider-Man is as popular as Bats and Supes. Iron Man now as well.

Originally Marvel took a long time to enter the game whilst Superman and Batman dominated.

Now DC's late to enter the last decade of Marvel ruling. But they certainly have entered the game again with Smallville (introducing many DC characters including Green Arrow) TDK Trilogy, MOS, Arrow and the upcoming Flash series. That will be at least 2 new DC Characters that will be popular with the GA now. With the original 2 holding strong. And with lots of room and potential to introduce many more DC heroes, starting with WW I'm guessing, who would be very easy to make famous again.

hahahahahaha! No!

You guys are outta your minds. Spider-Man has been a household names as of the 2000's. Iron Man only in the last decade.

Saying either of those characters are as popular and well known as Batman or Superman is like saying that because Justin Bieber is huge right now, he's just as popular and well known globally as Michael Jackson was in his day.

My point was from the 90's and early 2000's.

People grow and communicate. I remember X-men comics dominating the Top 100 for the longest time. The X-men were considered a virus amongst the comic community due to the popularity of the animated series. DC couldn't compete.
Hence the immense growth of Marvel related films at the time and DC were nowhere to be seen besides Smallville and the inevitable Batman film series.
Marvel films grew so quickly that they started their own studio to avoid the disputes.
Points aside people know who characters are in the Marvel Universe.
Whereas DC are struggling to play catch-up.
Heck their new big-budget film is Batman vs Supes!!!

It's all they can do.

Are you kidding me? Spiderman's always been a household name.

No.

Arrow is an awesome and popular show. Add that to his regular showing on Smallville and yeah Green Arrow is becoming a well known and popular hero. By this time next year the Flash will be too.

And your going on about the X-Men 90's cartoon but forgetting the most popular superhero cartoon in the next decade was JL and JLU. So your seriously underestimating how well known Dc superheroes are known. Especially with many of them appearing in Smallville. You forget howpopular that show was as well and just how many heroes it introduced.

This is undeniable but Darth power is a known dc fanboy who throws temper tantrums because he's sad over marvel's domination.

Arrow will never have the popularity today that the X-Men had during the 90's! FACT!

And that was precisely my point. Those people have grown up and have communicated their love for it.

You bring up JL and JLU? fine. That was later. Marvel comics were still doing strong at that stage. But don't ignore the 90's generation.
And from strong personal experience JL and JLU? Never had the popularity of 90's X-Men.

Batman the Animated Series yes...but not the JL series.

LOL

You're telling me random housewives, granny's and people who have zero interest in comics knew who Spider-man was before 2000?

no.
