We did not need the tentacle defense system thing. Also I'm still bitter the Zod and Superman fight wasn't longer.
As for character development....there was
Spoiler:
the forced romance with Lois without any reasoning, the fact that we never actually get to see Clark Kent until the end, Zod not using the terraforming thing on another planet for no particular reason and his newly found spite for humans even before the Kryptonians were sent to the phantom zone again, Superman not really having a defining moment for him to become Superman...dude just kind of does what he was already doing but with a suit. Least that's how I see the flaws in character.

Spoilers aren't really necessary in this thread 😛
The tentacle thing, yeah, okay, that was a little out of place.
I didn't feel the romance with Lois was forced. They met, they sparked, and stuff happened. It happens in real life too, just with less death and destruction.
Zod wanted the codex before building a new world. It was implied that he needed it before he could do anything. His anger at Jor-El and his son gave him all the reason he needed, imo. Does it make rational sense? No, but then again, revenge rarely does.
Superman floating in front of the army was very much a Superman moment for me. Less-so than his flying up through the world engine, though. That was a total ****ing Superman moment to me.
Meh...the romance could've been handled better is all I'm saying.
And were we not supposed to know that Jimmy Olsen is a girl now?
Just saying that if Zod were concerned about preserving his people, then wouldn't he try to find a planet first...you know since he already had a terraforming machine?
I was referring to the dialogue between Superman and the general about the spy-drone. The first encounter though was a pretty awesome Superman moment.
And I hope there's a director's cut with more Superman and Zod fighting....or Faora bringing the pain train.

Eh it really wasn't a love story tho
Yeah i have no idea
Well his motives were to find Kal/Codex and restart Krypton. No point in forming a planet if the yhad no clue where the codex was imo
Not my bag
I agree

The fate of the world was literally on Superman's shoulders when he flew through the world engine.

It better start pulling in more than just the $400+ million it's made so far. On a budget of $225 million, studios are gonna need to see more than "almost double" to take such a huge risk on a sequel. That's a lot of f*cking money to not get a huge payday out of, and a big f*cking risk to repeat with a sequel.
It's only been out for only two week and still hasn't opened in several OS markets.... It's going to make far more than $400 mil.
Seriously, anyone saying this film is bombing is either trolling or doesn't know how the box office works.

I liked the lois-clark interaction in MoS better than the original movie where lois interviews superman in her balcony and asks what color her panties were just to test his x-ray vision.. and I like the fact the adams lois knows, margot lois kinda just stumbled into it.. this lois lane is a proper journalist.. anyways, yeah, romance.. blah, blah.. punching is more important..
now that you mentioned it, there was this guy in the cinema where I was watching totally freaking out over the absence of jimmy olsen.. he was like "who's taking the pictures?!?! and why does he have bewbs?!?!"
zod's hate all stem from wanting revenge.. he knows that earth is way important to kal-el.. plus once the earth was terraformed, kal-el would be "normal" making it all the more easier to extract the codex from him or his lifeless corpse.. sure, he can terraform another planet, but, if you remember, kryptonians don't f*ck(except for jor-el and lara).. can't repopulate if you don't f*ck and have babies.. hence, the earth terraforming and wanting to extract the codex from kal-el..
I liked those scenes, too.. though it was a bit unbelievable that a car can withstand an exploding drone without taking any damage..
me, too..

It should easily surpass £500mill worldwide when all is done. And that's not even including what it will make on DVD/Blu-Ray sales.
Plus it seems to have made back it's marketing budget in sponsors : )
Not sure why people are making this out to be a Superman Returns type financial failure? It's clearly not.
