Thats because Smallville Clark was so fast he could save him and be back in the same spot without anyone noticing a twinge.
Smallville Clark was exposed multiple times.

They showed that he and his parents were worried about it, but it never stopped him from doing the right thing.

When Clark, as a kid, rescued everyone on the bus, that is who Superman/Clark is supposed to be.

MoS also rescued the bus. He never stopped exposing himself to save lives either.

Yea, I know he rescued the bus, I just said that.

Yes he did, he let his dad die...

I thought you were talking about Smallville Clark. >_<

That doesn't count, the guy told him to back off.

You're right, MoS ruined Johnathan Kent too. 👆

Based on what comics? What comics delve into the character of highschool Clark? Anyway, he is beta.

Not the point, just like in the comics, he showed concern for the well being of others when he was fighting, regardless of the level of threat he was facing.

Your opinion is wrong.

most of the post crisis stuff that takes place or references his youth.

MOS clark did too. his enemies were just more powerful and less willing to give him breathing room.

No, you.

Yeah they show early on that that's the kind of person he naturally is. Kinda weird that by the time the film ends he doesn't seem to give much of a shit about anyone anymore. Thousands dead? Whatever, just don't spy on me.

No comic goes into Clark's youth like Smallville does, they're brief and don't touch on how beta he would be around girls, which he would be. Don't lie to me.

Clark saved like 1 person while fighting, but what can you expect from a guy who lets his dad die.

If you're not Lois or the guy who's pre-written to sacrifice himself, Superman basically says f*ck it. And afterward, he doesn't care that you died. Or that the city was destroyed. Or the planet f*cked in its corehole. He just says "Whaevea! I do wha I want!"

Yes, that sure is accurate to his character. Good job on that interpretation.

I know, right?

why does this new edgy superman insist on repeatedly taking the fight to the middle of the nearest populated area and then recklessly endanger everyone's lives by punching general zod through buildings?

he actually drags zod from the middle of the kent farm to the town center. why? its a rural area so he literally could have chosen any other of the 360 degrees and not have ended up destroying the town.

like how Papa Kent speaks to Clark as a son while Jor-El speaks to him as a hero.

I think he actually hates humanity.

Superman should be the villain of Avengers 2.

Yeah it was a bit silly...I mean SUPERman, SUPER villains both proven to be indestructible...so what was the actual point in punching each other through buildings?

But then again it was convenient that all the buildings seemed empty...for an average week day afternoon in Metropolis.-sarcasm-

That would actually be f*cking awesome. He comes to New York for the Daily Planet but gets angry at all the populated standing skyscrapers and starts tearing them down.

I understand that there is a learning curve, I read Birthright, Origins etc.

But this Superman I can't picture growing up into the one we enjoy, which I guess is ultimately my main gripe.

That is a bit unfair if you ask me.

Smallville sucks. Stop talking about it.

Something tells me that a massive gravity weapon destroying several blocks of Metropolis would cause people to evacuate the skyscrapers.

Screw logic when it is time to whine.
