fair enough. but as i forgot to state, what about a screenplay? i doubt there is even a rough draft.

I think there's a huge chance you're wrong 😎 Scripts of this caliber are done in secrecy and I mean like area 51 kind of secrecy... If not a rough draft then there are DEFINITELY tons of story treatments out there by now.

assuming it remains for summer 2015, i hope you're correct, and you'd better as well.

so yeah, the idea was brought up to put forth your ideas of what you would like to see. general setting, amount of time from RotJ, characters, enemy, plot, etc. i had attempted to initiate it but then 'rage-fest 2012' happened. anyone care to post their ideas?

(and please dont waste our time copying used EU plots/character.)

Can we all assume for now (until officially announced otherwise) that Disney will not venture anywhere near current Star Wars EU characters or stories and will be motivated to create new canon in favor of their own marketing/profit/continuity/dignity? Just so we're on the same page: I'd personally love to hear everyone's ORIGINAL ideas for new unique characters and stories without hearing which favorite EU character that everybody wishes were in the new trilogy. I'm letting my ideas flow for right now, I'll post more about them later.

Amen. I have not disliked anything GL has done with StarWars. Granted, I've liked some things more than others. I wish the hate would not have been so strong. I like the prequel, generally, more than the OT.

Disney has made an official statement regarding the inclusion of EU elements and plot lines for the movies.

Basically, they said "**** EU".

That sounds oddly familiar.

By the way, when it comes to Lucas' recent $4 billion donation; I imagine that the decision to donate to that particular charity was made awhile ago and the recent disaster on the east made the timing of the news kind of bitter sweet and I'm sure George feels a little weird about the timing of it all. He probably wishes he could have at least donated SOME of it to disaster relief but he probably couldn't have at the time.

while they made it clear that they are doing something that was never done, with the amount of EU material out there, it would be difficult to not unintentionally mirror scenes, characters, occurrences.

i was referring more to people who would to drag thrawn, mara jade, clone palpatine, and other specified EU material into this.

I think what we are about to witness is the true expanded universe.

If gets to the point they make a new prequel trilogy set before the original prequel trilogy, and a sequel prequel trilogy to the new prequel trilogy, and a new prequel trilogy set before the new prequel trilogy that is set before the original prequel trilogy, and a sequel trilogy set between the original prequel trilogy and the original trilogy................do you think they will just do away with the episode #'s and erase them from the films? Just call them for example:

Star Wars: Cave men and fire
Star Wars: We invented Light sabers!!!
Star Wars: We invented light speed!!!!!
Star Wars: The Tragedy of Darth Plagues
Star Wars: Death and Trade Federation Taxes
Star Wars: Darth Maul's Birthday party
Star Wars: The phantom menace
Star Wars: Attack of the clones
Star Wars: Revenge of the sith
Star Wars: Evil wins because good is dumb
Star wars: The wimps of Aldereann
Star Wars: Conquest of the Empireal Janitor
Star Wars: A new hope
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes back
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
Star Wars: The Search for Money
Star Wars: Building Hotels on Dagobah
Star Wars: Ewoks Invent Time travel
Star Wars: The Jungles of Tatoonie
Star Wars: The New Republic meets the Star Fleet Federation
Star Wars: We're Completely out of Ideas

But seriously, Disney buys Star Wars, and they immediately announce not one movie, but three.

They announce three movies and do not even have a story

No one else finds this dubious?

Dubious? No. F*ckin unbelievably awesome? Yes.

Oh and in the interview with Kennedy and Lucas they said they are planning a trilogy after the next one too.

BLAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAA SIX NEW STAR WARS MOVIES!!! 😆 EAT MY SHIT LOTR FANS AND ALL YOUR POMPOUS SHIT-TALKING ASSES!!!

🤣 💃 🤣 💃 🤣

.....sorry I just had to get that out of me publicly. I actually love LOTR.

If you pay me enough I come up with 3 movies a day for you all involving Star Wars.

It seemed to work 2001: a space odyssey

yeah but 2001 had the monolith as a unifying element to tie past and future together, and thus made that scene relevant.

how about...instead of the war scene where the cave men use animal bones as weapons, they start force choking/thowing eachother?

not sure how you can stretch that into a whole film though. especially with no dialogue besides grunting and growling.

a Bone saber fight, sweet

I wouldn't mind seeing Star wars in its earliest primitive stages.

I guess that is what KOTOR was about, though I never played it
