Noah (Darren Aronofsky)

This is filming right now, apparently: IMDb. Starring:

Russel Crowe
Emma Watson
Jennifer Connelly
Anthony Hopkins

The Fountain is one of my all-time faves, and of course Pi and Black Swan are great. I've always found Requiem For a Dream to be a bit too unpleasant to watch much more than once or twice, heh, but it's also rather artistic. The Wrestler I thought was okay. But I'll certainly be intrigued to see his take on this "event."

I hope this film reaffirms my Judeo-Christian values. 😐 lol

Nice Post

Is it too much to ask for an "ass to ass" scene with Conelly & Watson?

That is offensive, sir. I'm sure that would be grounds for stoning back then. Unless of course they're mother and daughter, then it's okay. But I don't think it's a Requiem sequel, so no, probably not going to happen.

Ah I see what you're hinting...

Aronofsky's Ark...secret stash of gerbils.

Nudge nudge wink wink...I'll buy that for a dollar. 😉

hmm... I have an idea where you're going with that, but I hope I'm wrong...

yucky

You people are perverted. This is a Judeo Christian tale that I hope will help strengthen my unyielding beliefs in the Lord and here you are making perverted--

😆

Ah, I couldn't finish that with a straight face.

Yeah, I respect his work a lot. I love The Fountain and Pi. Requiem for a Dream is very unpleasant to watch (and I think that's the point), but a very good film also. I wasn't a huge fan of The Wrestler, but it was enjoyable and well done I suppose. I guess I just didn't care much for the subject matter. This should be pretty interesting, though, going big budget and using Biblical subject matter. His spiritual work I tend to find the most interesting. Well, that and this... naughty

Wait, are you serious? It would certainly make the Bible thumpers happy...

I agree. I feel like he is one of the rare filmmakers that are genuine, akin to Kubrick. I never feel like any punches were pulled and i always feel as though i received everything there was from the story to be had. I appreciate him turning down robocop lol.

See, i knew there was a reason i kept going back to black swan 😄

As for the dinosaurs, nah man, i'm just hard up to see Russel crowe tackle a frackin dinosaur. Have to admit, people wouildnt see it coming. noah has to fight off dragons of the sea to save the land mammals and human beings, badass cinema in the making, even if it is kind of blasphemous. What are movies for, right? 😂 jk

Well put, I agree. Genuine is a good word for him. He definitely puts his heart and everything he's got into his films.

I'm with you on this! 😆

YouTube video

This is gonna be fantastic. I love his style.

(thought I saw some excessive shaky-cam in there, though. I hope that's kept to a minimum).

Meh. Aronofsky is a master of making tragedies, but IDK about this one. I'm sure it will be a good movie, but I doubt it will be as good as his past works (on an emotional level at least). I'll probably skip it simply because the story of Noah's Ark is boring (and full of plot holes, such as how did they account for all species on Earth, what did they feed them, who shoveled the shit, why did God kill all of the children, etc.). They get on the boat. They stay on it for 40 days. Then they get off. Where's the excitement?

EDIT: I see they're adding excitement by including a band of raiders or something? Again, meh.

Haven't even watched one of Aronofsky's movie's

might change with this one.

Dude. Pi and The Fountain are fantastic. He won the Sundance film festival (I think it was) for Pi. And The Fountain is my favorite so far. They might still be an acquired taste, but they're masterfully done regardless. Black Swan is fantastic. Requiem for a Dream is also a great work of art, but not pleasant to watch. The Wrestler is good, but not really as interesting to me (probably wouldn't be interested in seeing it again). Anyway, he's probably the closest we have to Kubrick, so the more money they throw at him the better as far as I'm concerned.
