Fine you will get one uhuh

VISUALS:
First off I want to say that the visuals were awesome. The effects on all levels were amazingly well done.

STORY/PLOT:
The story plot was very put together. For the most part everything transitioned well for me in terms of pace a few scenes lag here and there but some of them are done with humor, which doesn't remove the long scenes, something that helps a little bit. A few contrived plot points here or there but that's expected with any movie. Probably the biggest thing that bothered me in terms of plot/story, and maybe you to when you see it, is how bad Federation Security is.

They managed a few different plot points that could have overloaded the story and made them seemless and streamlined in the story which was awesome.

And they created some really great scenes in this movie. Some very heartfelt ones.

ACTING:
I should start this out that if you averaged everyone's performance the overall acting in this movie is good, not great. And almost everyone gives just that good performances.

There are a few people that give great impressions of the characters they are playing but that's it. I think you will find that a lot.

Probably my two favorite performances in the entire movie are the drastically undervalued Carl Urban and the guy who plays Spock. This is coming from a guy who was never an avid fan of the Vulcan character themselves but the guy does such a great job playing him it's hard not to get invested in him.

The bad guy himself is good but not great, but given his story line he executed the character to perfection.

FINAL VERDICT:

I think this one was leagues better than the first. You can tell they took what they did wrong in the first and learned from their mistakes. These people know how to make a Star Trek movie now and you know it.

I think one of the big things they learned is how to streamline the story, cause the first one bounced all over the place this was more streamlined.

I think the next biggest thing they did is they let a very good and interesting story line drive the character's performances and that made it more organic.

This is shown no more than in the villain. Like mentioned before the performance was good but the execution of that character's role in the story was near perfect. While as before you had Eric Bana who to me like Carl Urban is so underrated but his character's story arc was so weak and he was all over the place that it makes the villain forgettable.

So good performances executed incredibly well in an incredibly good plot makes this a remarkable movie. I hope a lot more movies follow Star Trek's example on how to just make a movie.

I will definitely be buying this movie at some point.

Prepare to have your your mind blown. 🙂

It was an excellent film.

I will buy this as well and agree it was better than the original.

I saw this and enjoyed it. Well paced, excellent visuals, and a fun story.

I found the plot a little unnecessarily confusing like the first Abrams film, but it's still enjoyable.

Spoiler:
khan's accent

Villain stole the show.

I think I may have enjoyed the first more. Regardless, it was very good.

Kinda disappointed at the lack of

Spoiler:
Klingon
involvement.

The crowd I saw it with was small and weak(probably due to it being a 3D showing). Now as a Trekkie, I caught most of the jokes they were trying to do and had a ball with the film. Very much entertaining in the same way the first film was.

The action sequences involving the Enterprise were stunning. There were atleast three times during the course of the film where my jaw was on the floor in regards to the scope of the action.

Quinto as Spock really shined in this film where I thought Pine did in the first one.

Much, much better than Iron Man 3.

just got back from seeing this... I loved it.. IMO second best Trek film ever..

liked the action.. the story was good.. the camaraderie between kirk, spock, mccoy was good.. THIS trekkie loved it and found no flaws whatsoever

benedict cumberbatch stole the show IMO..

overall this is amust see for all whether you are a trekkie or not

10/10 rating

10/10???

Yeah, Abrams knows how to do big. He captures the scope and magnitude of the Enterprise ships and those cities. Everything felt big and real. The space jump from one space port to the other was ingenious and rivaled if, not better, than the space dive onto the drill on the first. Even the fight scenes were well choreographed unlike say Nolan, who is great visually, but terrible with fight scenes.

Loved this movie. Khan stole the show indeed and was more dangerous than Nero. Nero's ship, however, was much scarier than the Drednought. Sulu and Chekov didn't do a lot in this one though; they should give them more time on the next one. So far, I think the is the movie to beat this summer in terms of quality. Let's hope Abrams comes back for the last installment. If he does and the last one is as good as the first two, this will be the best trilogy ever made imo. Batman was so close but I was annoyed by the plot holes of the 3rd one.

Chekov did plenty. Sulu not so much. I didn't think the fight scenes were that special. I do wish to see it a second time in the cinema, preferably in 2D this time.

The Dark Knight Trilogy is clearly better no matter which movies you use so far.

What I did notice in this one that was really cool that I don't remember being in the first film was how cool it is when the Enterprise goes for Warp. Awesome. Also, the score was very pleasing in this one again.

Good stuff, overall. Can't wait for the third.

Yeah that's the only annoying thing for me in this film. Especially after catching up on

Spoiler:
Wrath of Khan
again.

Definitely movie of the year for me so far.

Just got back from a second viewing. This time in 2D. Once again, weak crowd.

Definitely increased my opinion of the film with the repeat viewing. Cumberbatch was awesome. As was the entire cast.

So is the 3D worth it?
