Dark Souls 2

King Vendrick character? I demand screenies.

I'm starting my PC playthrough tonight. All this talk has me wanting to die a whole bunch.

A King Vendrick build is not for the faint of heart. Not everyone can walk around with over a million souls at all times.

The Ruler's sword. I LOVE that weapon. Vendrick's gear is fantastic as well, except I don't like the crown.

My friend has lost two million souls doing that. He kills the giant in the memory over and over to farm them. He's a bit of a tool.

I like this game

So, how does this compare to the original? It's currently on sale on Steam for $33 and I'm curious if it's worth it.

Great game!
Imo it's easily as good as the first.
With better visuals and better combat.

I played about 130 hours withit.Too bad another gamer corrupted my saves.

Buy it!

Thanks, sounds great. Just bought it.

Enjoy it!

Imo rpg games are the kind of stuff that are worth even full price.
Especially if they are good.

I played Ds2 before Ds both are awesome.

Gameplay wise Ds2 feels better magic looks cooler and we get a lot more spells, you can warp between bonfires from the go.You can equip more rings ,weapon smithing is easier. You can backtrack even after beating the last boss ,boss armors can be bought and a lot more.

Also story is longer and there are more areas.

It is however a bit more difficult then the 1st.

Is this one as boring as the first one?

I didn't even finish this one, the covenant system in this game is utterly broken to the point it sucked the fun out of it for me.

Oh look it's a buttmad Bloodfag.

That Scream kid is dumb.

To be fair, have you ever joined the blood covenant?

It's unreasonably terrible.

Then you have shit like covenant rewards making little sense.

There is pretty much no reward to being a Champion unless you're going pugilist.

There is pretty much no reward for you having been born, m8.

Are you prepared to go all the way with this, Alexei?

Yeah, the single covenant. He said the system was broken, which is utterly wrong.

Also, the covenant system isn't design to bear reward. It is, but not in the direct way you're probably thinking of.

Other covenants are bad too, the Blue Sentinels requires a 500 victory grind as well. The fact that Brotherhood of Blood is worse doesn't make the others not awful. To say nothing of the absurd hitboxes, and how pointless not being a mage of some sort is.

DS2 wanted PvP to be a core mechanic, but DS2's PVP is so God awful that someone like me, who loves PVP, and who played the PVP in DS1 for days, couldn't even finish the game out of distaste for it.

mmm

And no, I'd say the covenants are by and large shit compared to the last game.

Yeah, but I had said directly afterward, which is obviously an implication of what I had said previously. You would have avoided this if you didn't quote half of what I had said.

They aren't, but yeah.

I don't look at the covenant system as an inevitable treasure chest. This is why I said the rewards aren't as "direct." They're there but it's not the primary intention of covenants.

See, this is what I mean. Your opening criticism is outlining the final reward involved in the covenant. You're viewing it as a prize box. This is not the purpose of a covenant. It's an addition.

Also, WTF? DS2's PvP isn't "God awful" at all. Are you drugged?

Wow, whole days you played that? Fuck me silly.
