1. it was the new 52 jla, not pre-reboot, which this thread is about iirc.
2. It was cast by a magical trident, and this was after all three members were weakened from combat.

Especially considering how since the reboot, people like Superman have tanked worse than lightning.

Ok let's see, feel free to disagree with any of the following:

1. Strength -Superman (but not by much)
2. Durability against Blasts=Thanos
3. Durability against blunt force=Wash (Thanos isn't immune to high herald level blows)
4. Speed=Superman by a lot (non debatable)
5. Skill=Wash (Superman has shown skill multiple times and so has Thanos)
6. Versatility = Superman.
Superman has intangibility, speed, hv, freeze breath, super hearing, telescopic vision, microvision, hurricane breath, flight, reflexes, singing, t-vo, counter vibrations, ...
Thanos has tp, tk, teleportation, shields, and energy blasts.

Speed is the greatest and single most attribute that's above any advantage.
It's so unfair it's like having the ability to either stop time or slow it down almost to a halt. What the hell is Thanos going to do to Superman if Superman actually decides to use his speed?

Super hearing is to hear Thanos heartbeat stop so Superman knows when to stop beating him. Telescopic vision is to see Thanos fly far away from a punch which will give Superman more confidence in the fight.
But other than that you are right. LOL
Super hearing is good for defending against sneak attacks though (in case Thanos decides to tp behind Clark).
