Justice League (2018)

Pa Kent and Lex are pretty much the worst characters of DCEU so far.

Costner was brilliant, but the characterization of Pa Ken was terrible.

I didn't mind him so much in MoS. Wasn't great and the whole "yeah, maybe let them die" while it seemed crazy and out of place, Jonathan was looking out for his young son's best interest first and foremost, which isn't crazy. He at least died by his own rules/code. So not the best characterization, but certainly now awful, imo.

But Eisenberg as Lex, there's literally nothing positive about it. He looks like a retard in either long hair or clean shaven and most importantly, his Asperger-y take on Lex is so ridiculously bad. Mark Strong would have fit that role perfectly, in look and acting.

We both know Amber Heard wearing a tight green outfit is the only reason to see it.

Reality check, Golgo. Margot Robbie in shorts couldn't save Suicide Squad on her own.

SS did extremely well, though. Like, they're going to have a sequel well. Don't be salty, because 3 characters you don't like did really good this year. 😉

People don't care about BO numbers, Golgo. Everyone has told you that a million times already.

What are you trying to prove?

BruceS, I have a present for you...

Same to you. There is still a lot to like. Hell, even some of the people who are trolling this thread liked JL enough. It was a solid, fun film, from what I have been reading on certain sites. Even your bro Hughes has pointed this out in this link:

How DC Universe Movies Are More Successful Than You Think

A reboot isn't going to happen. Gal will still play WW, Mamoa is still Aquaman, and they're about to shoot SHAZAM.

You can't use JL performance to predict future movies, especially with a director like Snyder involved. He's always had his share of baggage

It’s true it sounds like JL has been better. Which is What Matters! Which is what will lead the Future Success. Quality! Not numbers Lol

They don’t have to reboot, but they need to concentrate on their Core Team and making Good/Great Hero films like Wonder Woman. Forget this Suicide Squad and Gotham City Sirens shit!

Then when they finally dish out Quality film after Quality film for a few years can they finally think about a JL2.

But it’s all If’s and Maybe’s. For now though there’s really no comparison between Marvel and DC, no matter what Phase you want to compare it to.

Synder and his vision IS all but gone. From now on, I expect films that are more director driven, like what Jenkins delivered. And even some of Snyder's vision was still intact.

I’ve yet to hear you concede how wrong you were about WB making a great move using Snyder for all their biggest films.

If they didn't care, they wouldn't be responding to the posts. 😉

Well, you get the solo movies, for the most part. Gotham City Sirens is all but dead. The next ones that are coming out (confirmed) is Batman, SHAZAM, and Aquaman. After that, we'll see. If those end up being BO flops, then you might get your wish. They'll probably reboot.

And that's not what Pa Kent is!

He should be the guy who would immediately swim there to save those kids, help Clark cover it then happy about his son using the power to do the right thing. Only such a role model could raise Superman to be a great hero instead of a selfish jerk.

We were ok with it simply because of Costner's great acting helped to cover how terrible this character truly was.

Lol @ it being my wish.

I just want different DC superheroes like Shazam and Green Lantern and Flash. If the can’t do the Crossove stuff then best to just leave that alone.

Green Lantern Corps can be a Great Team Movie on it’s own without the need to cross over with AquaMamoa Cyborg Lol.

Unfortunately after JL flopping and the first GL flopping, it’s very very unlikely they will go ahead with a GLC.

Lol, JL hasn't flopped, yet.

Whatever you say dude.

Who knows it might surprise everyone with Wonder Woman Level legs. But unlikely with a 40% on RT and only a B+ cinema score.

A flop is a film that doesn't make any profit. JL needs 600 to make profit, along with strong home video sales. JL will at least do 690-750 WW. That is not the definition of a flop. Who knows what legs it will have. If it crumbles, and has lower legs than what is predicted, then it will be a flop.

I get what you're saying. It may have been a flop critically but we'll see where it's at financially when the dust settles.

"The Question For 'Justice League' Isn't How Much Money It Will Make, But How Much It Could Lose"

TLDR:

After it's all said and done , educated estimates indicate that it could either lose about 50 million or make 50 million profit total.

Box office forums have it all wrong as usual.

Jonathan Kent's loyalty has always been to Clark above all else. Didn't you see how crazy obsessed he was in Smallville too?

Them taking it a bit further in MoS doesn't invalidate the underlying message. The Kents want great things for Clark, but they've always been overprotective of him.

The idea and the execution were just more separate than they should have been.
