Well, I wouldn't call it a ripoff but it is incredibly similar to Captain America: The First Avenger.
Exactly but the dceu fans want to pretend it's so groundbreaking. WW IMO isn't great it's just very good at certain parts save the terrible and forgettable villain known as Ares.

And Chris Evans’s casting is >>>>> Gal Gadot.

Whoah. Whole 40%.

A) It was INCREDIBLY similar..again, I wouldn't say ripoff but lets face it, it wasn't just similar, it was like a mirror...
B) To each their own, I still like Captain America better and it had a better villain for sure.

Also, Cap came out years ago now so WW has the edge of newer technology and experience of comic book movies etc...

That all being said I think Patty Jenkins did a great job with WW; though I do think it's overrated by...alot.

A) How? For every parallel, most of which exist more as vague things than actual details, there are differences.
B) Red Skull was better, yeah, but I can't say I liked what they did with him later in the movie.

New technology affects it how? The CGI? Sure I suppose, but Cap's action scenes weren't that movie's strength imo.

I’d say he’s on par with IM now in terms of popularity. Though Chris worked hard to get him there developing his performance with each film. Well deserved IMO.

I think we can all admit at this point that we were wrong and the casting of Gal Gadot was perfect for WW. She's done a much better job than I ever imagined.

Gadot is the brightest spot of the DCEU so far.

Nobody's going to get anything productive done while WB continues to think it knows DC better than DC does.

But no, apparently ****ing Bendis is being brought in to work on scripts. It's like they want to fail harder or something.

Holy crap, I'm only just finding this out. BMB going to DC.

I think it will be good for him, to change it up and work on some new characters, recharge the batteries. It's always interesting to watch creators shuffle between the big two either because of choice, or they are left without a chair when the music stops after a company shuffle. Especially when someone has been around the block with all the Marvel characters two or three times over. That why I thought it was cool when John Romita Jr. jumped over there in 2014, after 35 straight years at Marvel. Or when Mark Bagley went over for a stint after nearly 25 years at Marvel.

Besides, Marvel has brought over some great writers from DC the past ten years - Mark Waid, Charles Soule, Jason Aaron, and Greg Rucka (so brief a tenure.)

But if this is about bringing Bendis in to re-create the Marvel braintrust for the movies, they have got to stop bringing in people who've contributed to successful Marvel movies and get longtime DC staffers to make their own.

This. I always wanted Bruce Timm, but Geoff Johns was a good step in the right direction (until they eventually re-shuffle him, too).

@Darth Thor

Yeah, Evans worked hard for it, while Downey Junior got complacent real quick...

rdj brought it pretty hard for Civil War

Lots of ups and downs, while Evans slowly progressed with each film.

I'm very much of the opinion that RDJ is one of the greatest actors of the last 30-40 years, so I am a tad biased, but Evans as Cap has improved with each movie, and I don't think the final showdown in CW (which is arguably my favourite moment in the entire MCU) would have been half as good if one of them wasn't there.

I don't want Bendis anywhere near DC, but that's me.

When you're that good, you don't have to try half as hard. I still rate him in CW though, especially in that final showdown.

Oh I’m not downrating RDJ’s performance. There’s a reason his IM was the no.1 superhero box office draw since 2008.

But I agree that his performance just came so damn naturally that he could afford to half ass it and it still comes out exceptional.

But with Chris Evans I give him real props for his effort and development of the character to the point where Cap now stands on par with IM.

Top 3 MCU performances

1. RDJ('Nuff Said)
2. Chris Pratt(Like Downey Jr, he took a character nobody cared about and made him charming as f.uck with lots of little nuances)
3. Tom Holland(It took a lot for me to give him a chance since I love the first two Raimi films, but Holland nailed Peter Parker's relatable teenager personality down pat).

I don't know where I would put Chris Evans, though. He's wonderful, but I dunno, I already liked Cap as a character and therefore I was expecting his personality traits and wasn't surprised by his idealism.

BvsS really screwed things up as you took arguably one of the biggest comic moments in decades with Doomsday and Death of Superman and crammed it into a third act of one movie. Plus a terrible Luthor. Everyone needed a solo movie first.

Marvel movies are better despite the fact I prefer DC in every other medium so still holding out that the solo movies help. WB did announce they are moving forward with the DCEU.

WB announced upcoming films, however will people even care...

I'm sure some will.

Not surprising. A little surprised to see GLC.
