He said DCEU is their most profitable next to Potter.

He said fantastic beasts. That's one every two years. It can't compete since they are only doing one every two years. Hell, the MCU releases multiple films a year. Star Wars is one per year. Dceu if they got their shit together could release at least two per year.

Aren't they the same universe?

BTW I've never seen a Harry Potter movie.

Yes, but their plans are ending it after this run with one every two years. That isn't enough films to even be on the MCU or Star Wars radar.

Who said that?

You couldn't just look up a few posts?

Struggling? WB had a record breaking year for them. DCEU is their most profitable brand, next to Fantastic Beasts.

That is not what he said.

Fine, I'd like proof that DCEU is their 2nd most profitable franchise.

Is that better?

Just start paying attention.

It's free.

It's free.

Or you could just stop trying to score meaningless points and actually participate in the discussion.

That is within your abilties, right?

Just try and keep up if you can.

BTW I'd bet one of WB's most profitable brands is the Conjuring.

Total budget on 4 movies is 81.5 million, total boxoffice is 1.2 billion.

Probably “IT” as well. But that’s obviously only a 2parter. Still they’re killing it in the horror genre.

But overall they are lagging behind Universal with Jurassic World and Fast&Furious. Obviously Disney is at the top.

WB has potential to go challenge Disney with DCEU, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Kong/Godzilla, Conjuring, IT.

I'm not sure if they can make more Lord of the Rings films as those are major money makers.

Anyone has the potential but don't bet on it. Disney with just their MCU, Star Wars, live action adaptations of Mulan, Lion King, Aladdin, etc. are going to be king for a while. Let's forget they own Avatar and all of the other marvel franchises Fox previously had access to.

Disney is on the top of the mountain. Don't kid yourself.

Universal and WB are the only threats to the Mouse.

Well IT is only a 2 parter, and LOTR finished. The even stretched out The Hobbit films.

Doubt Kong/Zilla will be taking in Avengers or Star Wars.

There biggest property right now is Fantastic Beasts. And even that was wayyy less profitable than Thor and GOTG this year.

Wonder Woman is the biggest film franchise atm. But she’s not dependant on the rest of the DCEU at all. Nor are the other DCEU movies benefiting by having her WW Star in them AHEM... Justice League!

They are peers but at this point no one is going to dethrone the king anytime soon. Disney got stronger despite being the best. They aren't complacent.

Well the LOTR has a lot of lore to draw from and WB has a lot of money to throw around so who knows.

I believe I read that WB is involved in the Amazon TV show based on Middle Earth.

So, no proof that the DCEU is their 2nd most profitable franchise?

That’s a bold claim after Justice League.

The DCEU’s Shared Universe isn’t that profitable right now. But some individual DC brands are with or without the DCEU.

Wonder Woman is one of the most profitable SH movies this year. Yes, the JL under performed, but that doesn't erase the last 4 DCEU movies, which were all pretty profitable.
