Also, looking at the home video sales, SS also nearly doubled the amount of sales FB had.

Their M.O seems to be to release a garbled mess at the cinema then blame it on shitty editing and release an overpriced "director's cut" on blu-ray to try and get the same people who thought the cinema version was total shit to buy it.

And it works cos people are mostly idiots. It won't work for Justice League though.

Who knows? Numbers aren't out yet. WB generally has good home video sales, though.

Wonder Woman is one of the most profitable SH movies this year. Yes, the JL under performed, but that doesn't erase the last 4 DCEU movies, which were all pretty profitable.

Wonder Woman is a profitable franchise but would have made money with or without the DCEU.

DC’s “Shared Universe” is dead as JL has proven.

Not dead yet. Just because one film under performs does not equal dead. Premature statement.

So its quantity over quality for you?

I guess it depends on how you define, "dead".

That 1 film was Justice League Lol Of course the Shared Universe is dead.

Not premature at all.

I get that If Shazam does well you’re going to flaunt about how successful the DCEU is again. But what you’re not getting is that if Shazam works it will work with or without the DCEU.

It will take another 2 or 3 Wonder Woman Level successes within the DCEU for the DCEU brand to be reignited. As of right now though, it’s lying dead.

Yet, WB will put out more DC properties that is related to the DCEU. Nothing is ever dead in the entertainment industry. New directors will come in and help the shared universe and people will continue to see them.

I also get the feeling that James Wan will have more control over his film. He also tends to do well with all of his properties (Furious 7, Conjuring, etc...). I expect Aquaman to follow suit.

The poor decisions of the dceu need it to be jump started again. MCU is going on its tenth year and is a virtual machine. Be envious.

I'm still curious how much he'll depart from JL. There's already been hints about him not following everything.

Well they didn’t see Justice League so who knows how many more of their films will flop in the future.

600 M (in ticket sales) was break even point. It'll get around 665 M OS. Pretty sad number, but with all the other incentives, it should still get a small profit.

No, it wasn't. according to the Business Insider the overall cost of JL to make and market was 600 million.

Yeah 600mill is a seriously modest number. It will likely be much closer to 700mill. Maybe more.

But even at the high end of that it should break even after Home Entertainment sales.

This is the failure of all failures. The culmination of years worth of buildup resulted in the public rejection of the dceu.

Wow, you're so butt-hurt that DC made another sh!tty movie that you forgot that I enjoyed both SS and WW.

Calm down son, it's a new year.

Quit being so exaggerated and own up to your bias, friend.

I'm biased against crappy movies.

I've only seen you get your panties twisted for these. *thinking emoji

Anything is possible, but i meant DC as a whole. Lately, it has been WB cash cow, and I don't mean just their movies. Wonder woman makes almost as much in merchandise as the Avengers. WB also just had one of their best games, in Injustice, and their tv shows are doing solid. Not to mention DC owned Marvel in comics, too last month. Doomsday Clock won top spot.

There is potential in the DCEU. They just need to take their time and quit worrying about Marvel and concentrate on their own things.
