^ You're right Zack, I have been wrong before. I was expecting BvS to do wayyy better. But it's shitty legs and the lack of Universe building is exactly why JL won't make much more than 1 Bill. I'd say approx 1 Bill is the best it can do tbh.Snyder and BvS have simply left a bad taste in people's mouths. And no ones demanding JL due to the lack of Universe building IMO.
It's the same characters as BvS again. Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg are not adding any goodwill on name alone. But it's a sequel to a poorly received movie. So Would be a miracle for it to even massively out perform BvS.
A crap load of people liked it, too. The ratings don't reflect the RT score. On top of that, Snyderverse could be similar to the Transformers movies where even though it gets negative reviews, still performs good at the BO. Even though the past few movies left a bad taste in people's mouths, it still did well.

Some people like me liked it. But hardly anyone raved about it. That's reflected in its terrible box office legs. Will see if it does any better with its Blu-Ray sales.
You can't compare it to Transformers as Transformers movies Always had good legs at the box office. The last one had the worst legs but still miles better than BvS.

My main point is that previous films don't always damage future ones and that is certainly true for Transformers and pirates franchise. Thus, JL could very well hit that billion if the reviews and reception are good.
Supposedly WB is releasing the extended edition in theaters and people have been saying its much, much better than the theatrical version.
Didnt we make a friendly bet on Suicide Squad? I think you said it wouldn't cross 600 million. We can always do another one for JL.
^ Yeah but my point is Transformers and Pirates are incredibly popular franchises. Have been since the first one. Always had great legs too. DCEU hasn't manage to do that yet. And Snyder's not for a good name Atm.
Suicide Squad's too hard to call IMO. But should do at least 600. Wouldn't be surprised if it did 700+.
Will see about the BvS extended edition. I doubt they're releasing it in theatres as it's available on Blu-Ray next month.

BVS was Snyder's first film to get over 800 m WW. These characters are bigger than any director, so saying it's Snyder doesn't mean anything .
So your happy with Snyder and his direction of the DCU? I can not believe your defending this guy after his last two movies sucked and under performed. As a comic book fan, I want and demand better.

Man of Steel made not only 3times its budget, but in the same year outgrossed Thor: TDW, and sold better on Home Entertainment than IM3. Despite IM3 having double the box office.
Originally posted by Darth ThorNo one gives a fuk about home entertainment anymore. Maybe if more people saw MoS in the theaters the dvd sales wouldn't have been so high. Maybe if so many people hadn't watched and rewatched IM3 so many times in theaters, the dvd sales wouldn't have been so low. The point is, IM3 was more profitable and more highly rated than MoS so that comparison can die already

You sound butt hurt.
What do you mean nobody cares about Home Entertainment? Whose nobody? The studios? Home Entertainment counted for a third of MOS's gross sales. So your clearly wrong there.
Just because YOU hated MOS and are one of the handful of people who defends IM3, doesn't mean that's how everyone else feels.
Fact is MOS didn't out sell Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy on Home Entertainment. So it's not a case of "Oh people didn't see MOS originally that's why they bought it, and everyone already saw IM 3 that's why they didn't buy it" LOL
I mean by that logic Thor:TDW (also released the same year) which grossed less than MOS at the box office, should have trashed both IM3 AND MOS on Home Entertainment. But it didn't. Go figure.
There is still such a thing as Renting a film if you've not seen it.
People generally buy films they like. They don't buy films they don't like (generally). Those figures are simply facts and tell a truer story of how the audience felt about a movie than the ratings from a select portion of the audience on RT on IMDB. Those ratings can also be fiddled with by Fanboys and Haters. The Home Entertainment Sales can not be fiddled with.
These are facts. The facts won't die just because you don't like them.

Imo you're interpreting it completely wrong.
The character of superman is storied and iconic and close to lots of people's childhoods. So it would make sense that Superman has a very core loyal group of fans. The fact that MoS box office was weak and dvd sales were good simply means that the movie didn't appeal to general audiences but the loyal core group of superman fans still went out and bought dvds. Now, is that a sign that MoS is more loved than IM3? **** no it's not. An example is firefly, a crapload of really loyal passionate fans bought the dvds but when the movie Serenity was finally made the GA didn't give a shit. DVD sales are not representative. I don't mean to sound butthurt but that's a really flimsy tired argument.
DVD sales are not representative of the GA. Box office AND critics ratings are evidence in support of IM3 being more successful than MoS. That's called a fact

The studios certainly do. MOS made 300 million for the studio. That's a lot of money, dude.
