Olli stared blankly at the comm device for a moment before he was onslaughted with questions from the saved group.
"What the hell were those things?"
"Where did they all go?"
"How did you freeze them all like that?"
"Yeah. Are you one of the Titans? I bet he's a Titan."
"Where are they at, anyways?"
"What made those things?"
"Who was that girl that was just here? Was she a Titan, too?"
"What are we supposed to do now?"
Olli couldn't answer most of the questions because he, himself, wanted to know the very same things. But he did ask what he could.
"Well, I don't know where those rock creatures came from or where they went but I don't think they'll be back any time soon. Then again, I don't know. I'm not a Titan."
The group looked more than a little disheveled at this revelation. One of the girls present stepped forward, "But we saw you make those monsters stop moving. All you did was flick your hand at them and they stopped what they were doing."
A look of reluctant acknowledgement crossed Olli's face. "Yeah. Its something I've been able to do for a while." He rubbed the back of his neck as he felt his nerves tighten. He didn't know what he should or shouldn't say in situations like this. He was new to this kind of thing.
"Guys, instead of questioning him, don't you all think that we should probably go find some help for the ones that are hurt?"
Olli looked to the guy who had pretty much got the attention off of him. It was the same guy who was holding his head earlier. Olli walked around the people near him and went over to the guy. "Are you hurt," he asked as he bent down to look at his head.
"No, I'm fine," the boy answered. "But one of my friends got hurt in the earthquake and this woman..." he pointed to the sleeping lady, "...she fainted. We need some help."
No sooner as the boy said that did the sirens of emergency vehicles sound away in the distance and getting louder by the seconds. Olli got up and ran out of the parlor to flag the first ambulance he saw.
As the EMTs got out, Olli told them that there were two people down in the pizza parlor that need immediate attention. As they raced in, Olli started back towards Matt's super car. Athena said he was hurt and that Olli would have to get back to the Tower by himself. He wanted to make sure that Matt was okay and he also didn't think it was a good idea to leave his super car out in the open.
As he headed that way, the boy Olli was just speaking with rushed out. "Hey! Hey, wait up." Olli turned around to see the boy sprint towards him. "Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for helping us back there. You know, even though you're not a Titan."
"Oh. Sure. It was the right thing to do."
"And I also want to apologize for my friends attacking you with all those questions."
"Oh, that? Nah, its okay. People have a strange tendency to ask a lot of questions when spooked."
The other boy smiled at this. "Maybe, but my friends are just really nosy. Never mind that you pretty much saved their lives, they just want to know how you did it."
Olli felt that strange nervousness starting to come back and it forced him to let out a nervous chuckle. "Yeah. Well, I really have to go."
"Oh, yeah. Of course," the boy responded. "And you don't have to be nervous about my friends telling anyone about you. I'll make sure they keep their mouths shut about you."
Olli looked squarely at the boy surprised that he would say something like that.
"The boy seemed to understand his expression and smiled again. "You're not the only one with...skills. By the way, my name's Christian."
Olli just stood there staring at Christian. He didn't know why he was slightly surprised at the fact that he met another person with powers. "What, you're a psychic, too," was all he could manage to ask.
"Christian shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. I can sense and mess with other people's emotions. I can't read their minds or anything. But I can place emotion-based illusions in someone's mind to make them feel the emotion that way."
"Uh-huh," was again all Olli could muster. He realized just how tired he was at that moment and all he wanted to do was go drop Matt's car off and then get some sleep. Although, he was pretty sure that that was going to be an issue seeing as Matt wouldn't be able to take him home. He might have to sleep at the Tower. That might be fun.
"Hey, man. Are you alright," he heard Christian ask him.
Olli nodded, "Sorry. I'm just really tired."
"Yeah. I know. Well, I know you have to get somewhere. I just wanted to thank you for your help and apologize for my friends. It was nice to meet you...," Christian held out his hand towards Olli.
"Oliver. My name's Oliver," Olli said as he shook Christian's hand. "But I much rather be called Olli."
"Well, then, Olli. I'll let you get back to your own business. I'm sure my friends could use some help back there. See you around."
"Hey, Christian? Do your friends know about your powers?"
Christian shook his head. "I never felt inclined to tell them. It's not something that just rolls off your tongue, is it?"
"I guess not," Olli replied. "You have a phone on you?"
"Sure."
"Well take my number down. In case you ever want to talk about hiding your powers or anything like that. I know from personal experience how hard it can be having that kind of secret."
After they exchanged numbers, they went their separate ways. There was a lot of damage done to the area but Olli could tell it was going to take some serious money to fix everything. But still, it didn't look as bad as a could have considering the earthquake and hurricane force winds about 45 minutes ago.
Along the way back to Matt's car, Olli helped as best he could but he quickly realized that there wasn't much he could do as the police and emergency workers were already handling things pretty well. That wasn't a shock considering Jump City was often a super power battle ground in the past. Everyone probably was expecting something like to to happen sooner or later.
When he reached Matt's super car, he quickly slid in and let out an exasperated sigh. What a night, he thought to himself. He tried to turn the car on but found that there were no keys or an ignition slot. Luckily, there was a "START" button. He pressed that and the car sprung to life. Buttons were lit all over the dashboard and it overwhelmed him in record time. He shook his head and drove towards the Tower.
When he made it to the bay, he forced himself to push the button Matt did to turn the car into a flying machine. As he and the car careened towards the Tower, he was screaming the entire way. He was eternally grateful that flying it and driving it was pretty much the same.
He didn't land gently. But he did think he did a good enough job considering it was only his first time flying it. Also, he didn't remember where the entrance was for the car so he just hopped out and locked the doors. As he made his way to the front entrance of the Tower, he heard talking. He recognized the voice and saw the guy who was at his job when that girl was stealing from his job.
He he made his way to him, he saw that he was talking to someone else. He also remembered that he and the guy hadn't been properly introduced. He hope the guy wouldn't think he was an intruder or anything and slowly walked over to the two.
