X-Men: Days of Future Past

Yeah and people love IM (or Downey) too above all the other Avengers. Doesn't mean Marvel should just bank on that and make Avengers all about him, making the rest of them completely unlikable and outright useless in the story. They're supposed to be learning from Marvel, but they're not really getting it Imho.

And of course the audiences all love Wolverine the most. Because the X-Men movie franchise(with the exception of FC) hasn't really given any other character a chance to shine. FC did, and the result was the best X-men movie by far Imo.

Anyway I'm still hoping Wolverine is a 3rd wheel behind Charles and Eric in this film. That I wouldn't mind and would be a nice change around.

Iron Man has received the best treatment out of all the Avengers, though, and that is specifically because he might as well be "the protagonist" of the Avengers. How many of the other characters have had three movies? Iron Man 3 made over a billion dollars in like a month and a half. Who was it that ultimately came up with the clutch plan and saved New York via heroic sacrifice? Iron Man has the most character development and the most screentime out of all the Avengers. Thor is creeping up on him, and we might see some more popularity for Steve after his second movie comes out, but Bruce, Natasha and Hawkeye (can't remember his real name) are basically supporting characters. It's only because of Whedon being a complete baller when it comes to juggling large casts that we see them be as fleshed out as they are in Avengers.

The biggest weaknesses of the X-Men movies imo, and the reason for why Wolverine is such a superstar, is weak writing and weak casting. I think that if you had had someone like Whedon writing the X-Men titles, the cast would have had a more balanced level popularity. As it stands, in the first three X-Men movies, the cast was about 80% shit. Xavier, Magneto and Logan were pretty much the only decent characters in he whole trilogy.

I know, and when you look at it, IM is massively more popular than Wolverine (on the big screen that is), and they did bank on that, by revolving a lot of the marketing for Avengers around IM, giving him the best dialogue, some of the coolest scenes, and having him save the day.

And yet they still didn't make the whole movie revolve around just him. The most exciting fight in the movie was Thor vs Hulk, so didn't even involve IM. The most fun scenes were all Hulk based.

The Villain of the movie was Thor's brother, making the plot revolve around Thor quite a bit. And even with Cap he got to lead the team during the final battle. I can only ever hope for Cyclops to be portrayed as well in an X-Men movie as Cap was in Avengers.

BW had a really cool introduction, had some good scenes throughout the movie and was the one to close the portal. Fury and Coulson were not exactly unnoticed either. I'd say it's only Hawkeye who ended up being an extra tbh.

All in all it was a Great "Ensemble" movie. And not just an Iron Man and Co. movies. That would have ruined it.

I was just about to make a thread on that! And I thought Days of Future Past was an ambitious movie. 2016 should be fun. He seems pretty confident that Days of Future Past will do well. Anyway, I'm excited for both!

Well I'm glad to have been wrong (or partly wrong) on my previous witty post/comment about Apocalypse. Haha.

Here's to hoping it's decent, for real.

Why

X-Men 3, Wolverine: Origins, that new Wolverine movie.

I refuse to get excited for the X-men movie franchise

I'll still be giving all this a chance (with minimal expectations), but if Singer somehow screws up Apocalypse too then he'll be by all means, the Joel Schumacher of X-Men far as I'm concerned.

I really hope singer gets this right. He was spot on with the first two
