Well just think... We get him in Avengers 2 next year and then back in X-Men Apocalypse the year after. That'll be 3 consecutive years of Quicksilver in 3 Awesome films!

I did know that. This is great news!

You guys are being silly. What does Wolverine's enhanced senses have to do with his healing powers? Absolutely nothing. It's just 2 different powers he has. Same with Nightcrawlers Teleporting and Super Agility/Acrobatics. So I don't see why Kitty can't have a second power.

Now for my problem with the whole time travelling thing, which is an actual plot hole. And a big one:

How could Kitty possibly know she has this power and practice using it? Every time she sends someone back in time, history changes so she never sent that person back. In fact she can't send them back in the revised timeline otherwise they would be stuck in a time loop.

It would only make sense if Kitty remembered both timelines. But watching it a second time she makes it clear to Wolverine that only he will remember the original timeline. She wouldn't.

So that's a big flaw in their whole method of time travel. But apart from that, it's a great movie, and I like it even more after a second viewing. It's not just action and special effects. None of the characters are black and white and it's quite emotional. James McAvoy is really a great actor. As are Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, but I think McAvoy really killed it with his performance.

Wow, I never thought of that. Good observation.

Good points.

But the explanation for how she knows if her powers actually work is simple:

She is sending someone's thoughts back in time. Basically, it is passing information back in time. She can see where she throws her pitches because she throws them in that direction, if that metaphor works.

What she does not know or cannot know is if the pitches resulted in a ball or a strike, to extend the metaphor. But she certainly knows she is throwing them as she is the one projecting the consciousness/thoughts back in time to a specific person.

liked this movie alot. Quick Silver...! thats my dude! I thought the performance by the ensemble was awesome. Sentinel really f'cked up the mutants! One of them reminded me of Chaos King (demon form) lol. The after-credit tease had the whole theater going nuts! Can't wait for the next one.

But by this wouldn't she still have to somehow let her past self know what she's doing in order to accurately use her power. I mean she made it clear that she doesn't remember the newly established timeline from her powers which would also mean she doesn't remember using her powers to begin with. This would also mean that each time she used her power would be the first time that she's used it.

The whole thing with Kitty having time travelling powers is stupidly convenient just to make this movie work, but the movie itself is still pretty cool.

Also I'm still curious as to how

Spoiler:
Mystique survived being experimented on along with how Emma and Banshee were caught in the first place

Exactly. If she doesn't remember the old timeline there's no way she could know she sent someone back, so no way she could practice the ability.

The only way would be is if every time she sent Bishop back, Bishop explained to her exactly what she did and how she did it. But there's no way she could practice the ability because she won't remember ever using it.

THE ONLY WAY I can think of right now is if she practices by stopping in the middle and letting Bishop's conciousness come back to the present without Bishop changing anything major in the past. Just to practice this time travel ability she thinks she might have. That's the only way she could practice the ability I guess. But as for the whole time travel mechanics when they do change history, Bishop would have to explain that to her.

Still would have made a lot more sense, and be less of a headache to think about if she just had memories of both time lines.

Yeah I think X-Men is a very diverse and crowded universe as it is. There's no need to add Avengers to the same verse which is what Marvel would do.

Important thing is Fox is finally doing X-Men well.

If the AvX event proved something is that X-men and Avengers can only benefit from being as apart from each other as possible.

Unless you adapt Remender's Uncanny Avengers to a movie, that would be dope.

Spoiler:
Because of KANG

In Last stand Trask is played by Bill Duke.
So it doesnt really add up....haermm

To be fair, in X3 is he even called Bolivar Trask? I remember they called him just Trask ¿maybe a son?

Just Trask checked on imdb as well.

Dofp was great. I think vaughn and singer said kitty's power to time travel were a 2nd mutation like emmas diamond form and gambits charming ability.

Just got back from the theater. Great film. IDK if it's the superlative best, but it definitely is amongst the top 3 X Men films. Tate "Kitt Walker" Langdon as Quicksilver was great, as was

Spoiler:
the Pentagon jailbreak scene
. Hope to see him in future installments, and IDK how the MCU can make a better version.
All in all, I give the film a 8.7/10

Just had one question though

Spoiler:
at the end, Trask got arrested for selling military secrets; did that actually happen, or was Mystique just framing him?

After he got rejected by congress he tried to sell the weapons to China. That was the whole point of him being at that 'peace conference' at the end of the Vietnam war.

That came from

Spoiler:
Trask selling the secrets of the Sentinel program to the Vietnamese to get more funding and influence. Someone, probably Mystique, must have got some evidence of it and gave it to the pentagon. She was posing as Stryker after all towards the end of the movie. Either that or the U.S. framed him in order to save face

Edit: goddamnit jaden I wanted to explain it.

That was his purpose in paris to sell it to every other potential ally

Oh, I understand now. Thanks to you both.

Well, turns out I have one more question:

Spoiler:
how the hell was Jean and Scott (and Xavier for that matter) alive at the end of this?

Reboot!! Only FC and DoFP are confirmed canon now with possibly X1 and the cast from X2 being canon.

The fact that Aaron Taylor is Q give me no hope for the MCU version of Quicksilver acting wise, i think Scarlet Witch will be the duo's star.

Aw. I didn't love X3, but I did enjoy the Phoenix sub-plot. Sad to see they retcon-ed that. Oh well.

It's funny because before me and my little brother went to see this, X3 was starting on TV, and they were doing the Sentinel simulation. Wacky coincidence.

Loved seeing Magneto go ham in this movie. I am curious as to how this will affect Mystique's future. I doubt she's going to be Magneto's henchman like the earlier films. Also wonder if Jennifer Lawrence has officially replaced......the other chick as Mystique, because Lawrence is definitely better.

Spoiler:
Because the timeline changed, and therefore history changed. So because of the past events in DoFP, the future changed to where Jean never becomes the Phoenix and doesn't kill Scott or Xavier
