You are correct.

Let's take it a step further.

Yes, as far as RUNNING SPEED, Doomsday is as fast as superman on LAND.

Doomsday was cutting a path across the country destroying everything in his way pretty swiftly.

In space it's a different thing as Superman can clearly fly faster in space than Doosmday.

Remember when Doomsday blitzed the whole justice league?

Doomsday did that through RUNNING SPEED.

They could have done a much better job portraying Doomsday's speed but Doomsday is actually a little bit FASTER than Superman in combat and running speed on LAND.

Also too, let's keep in mind that Doomsday has Kryptonian physiology so he would easily have strength and speed on par with Superman.

Doomsdays reflexes were so fast that he managed to gut Superman in mid-atmosphere, while Superman was trying to fly him off planet (something he can do in a matter of seconds). His speed and reaction time is Vastly moreso than Hulk, which is why he would beat Banner much more often than not.

Your logic is flawed.

Travel and reflexes are mainly separate. Superman using both at the same time doesn't do anything to lessen Doomsday's speed.

By this point we've seen Superman have like far greater than nanosecond time perceptions and has done tasks that would take at least hours in seconds, showing his ability to fight at super speed. Yet Doomsday was still able to go blow-for-blow with him, thus showing Doomsday's combat speed.
