That was in regards to having a legitimate flagship Superman. Dont read more into it then there really is.

his origins (IMO one of the best in comics) with galactus and zen-la seem quite original.
When the Surfer was first created by Kirby, there was no Norrin Radd or Zenn-La; he was the Surfer from the get-go, always there, always like that. So it was pretty neat how, years later, Lee and Buscema worked out a logical, definitive origin from the Galactus function. Like it was meant to be all along.

yeah I know, it's his backstory I find most appealing. his thing with alicia masters and revolting against G wasnt a big deal on

Sorry. I'm not that well versed in Norse Mythology. I was just eluding to the point that he exists in both scenarios, Thanks.
Wow!
A full page of multi-paragraph spankings. 😕

Consider yourself "educated" now.

You may want to put some ice on that.

Yes, what will I ever do now that somebody's superior wisdom of norse mythology made a point that wasnt even the subject of the conversation?

Here is the main point.

Thor - Norse Mythology

Thor - DC Comics

Thor - Image Comics

Thor - Weird Comics

Thor - Comico

Thor - Marvel

They are the same character. Hardly original at all and Thor is Marvel's main go to guy. I like the character, but I think its sad that Marvels answer to Superman is just some character derived and copied from Norse Mythology. It has always bothered me for some reason. Lack of creativity I guess.

And yet you wanted Marvel's answer to Superman to be the 100th ripoff of Superman

Although I loved the 600 Plus issues that the other Thor's have been able to headline, they aren't the same character.

They are all Thor. If you walked down a street and talked to 100 people and say 80 of those people have never picked up a comic book in their life, chances are they would still know who Thor is from Norse Mythology. Like I said, I like Marvels Thor, but I was pointing out that he was just a blatant copy that didnt take much imagination. Would have been the same if Marvel wrote about Sherlock Holmes, Zorro, King Kong, Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde (oh wait, they did that with the Hulk), and made them into popular heros. Its not a big deal, but I think its lame that a plagiarized character is who fans turn to in terms of a companies most powerful hero. To each his own.

Odds are, those people would probably have a better understanding of Thor due to the exposure of his movie and the Avengers. I'd go as far as to say that the character Thor from Marvel is currently more popular and well known than his mythical counterpart.

They all have a hammer.

Seriously though the whole Donald Blake thing alone was something completely original (as related to Thor).
