his origins (IMO one of the best in comics) with galactus and zen-la seem quite original.

You may want to put some ice on that.
Yes, what will I ever do now that somebody's superior wisdom of norse mythology made a point that wasnt even the subject of the conversation?
Here is the main point.
Thor - Norse Mythology
Thor - DC Comics
Thor - Image Comics
Thor - Weird Comics
Thor - Comico
Thor - Marvel
They are the same character. Hardly original at all and Thor is Marvel's main go to guy. I like the character, but I think its sad that Marvels answer to Superman is just some character derived and copied from Norse Mythology. It has always bothered me for some reason. Lack of creativity I guess.

They are all Thor. If you walked down a street and talked to 100 people and say 80 of those people have never picked up a comic book in their life, chances are they would still know who Thor is from Norse Mythology. Like I said, I like Marvels Thor, but I was pointing out that he was just a blatant copy that didnt take much imagination. Would have been the same if Marvel wrote about Sherlock Holmes, Zorro, King Kong, Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde (oh wait, they did that with the Hulk), and made them into popular heros. Its not a big deal, but I think its lame that a plagiarized character is who fans turn to in terms of a companies most powerful hero. To each his own.
