They are corrupted Istari by melkor. Gandalf went life and death with one. Thus, Sauron punking him with ease show just how much power he has. Thus when the lady (which weakened) beat him and banishes him... It's far more impressive.

Also, did you just chide me for not reading the books in a fight about friggin movie versions? So for the purposes of the movie forum, the movies are kind of the source we go by. That is what we look to. Not the books, not anything but the movies. So since you danced around my question, I already pretty much have my answer.
Also no, do not bring up what shitty movie guides say. If you have to resort to things other then the movies in order to win a fight in the movies forum..well, you kind of see the issue with what I just wrote, right?
People people, let's be civil. There is no real way to prove one universe is better than the other especially in this group of people coughQuancough. LOTR has some pretty powerful armies and people and this is cancelled by HP mass versatility. I personally say Harry Potter, but it's my opinion. This one of those threads where it's only opinion and can't really be proven.
