No, they are not a combo, they are light spirits. This is explicitly what HH says and what TP's cutscene shows.

She cannot break the curse and Zant's curse strips you of your magical powers, again, as per HH. Even the light spirits couldn't fix it.

She does too. She can heal unlike Zant who is easily killed by Midna.
