It IS however, somewhat an accepted consensus that planets SHOULD be larger than moons and from the looks of the art, it even looks like the damned planet was large enough to have several moons orbiting it.

Except, he supports his notion that its a "small" planet with stuff from the narrative. It's not just a random assumption.

As for the so called "moons", in the first panel we see Gladiator flying past tons of objects floating in same. Quite simply those appear to be planets in the distance, not sure why the ones in the panel with Glads punching the planets couldnt be other planets as well.

Anyway, I'm not arguin that he is right. But I feel heis making a compelling case.

The scan also outright states that the planet supported life as well.

Correct! I didn't see that either til now. So two conclusions:

1. In comics an Earth sized planet can be without an atmosphere.
2. Races can live on planets with no atmosphere.
3. Or the artist incompetently drew the planet without an atmosphere.

True, but superman fans will always try and sell it as a little object in space. The thought of it being huge scares the heck out of them.

No, it really doesn't, and they no more try to discredit than Gladiator fans try to wank the shit out of it.

It is a known scientific fact that very small planets cannot sustain an atmosphere.
The planet had no atmosphere. So it we should assume it had the largest mass possible that cannot support an atmosphere.

It has already been stated that the planet once supported life meaning that it once was most likely big enough to sustain an atmosphere.

Planets can lose their atmosphere thru outside forces (like getting sucked by a stronger gravitational pull or something extreme, like say, surviving a galaxy's destruction).

Instead of coming up with silly conclusions, maybe you should read the entire scan and use a little deductive reasoning first?

And where the hell did you come up with "no atmosphere" in the first place? I hope, not in the statement: "There is no sound in the airless void of space" because that is talking about "the airless void of space" and not the planet.

1. Certainly possible.
2. Another possibility, but unlikely and shouldn't be concluded w/o something on-panel that aludes to this.
3. OR you don't look at the comics you like to BS about because if you based it on artist's drawing, 4th panel from the top certainly DOES look like it has a blue hue outline that may be interpreted as an atmosphere.

Edit. Didn't notice that I didn't finish one of my sentences.

1. agreed
2. we many times have seen beings on planets and moons without atmosphere in comics. They can talk and everything lol. But your assessment is correct. This is more unlikely here.
3. Well in the earlier panel we see ZERO atmosphere. So

a. The blue hue in the 4th panel was something else. Maybe reflected light or just art to highlight the planet.

b. it was an atmosphere. But the artist messed up and didn't draw it the first time.

😕

It really doesnt matter about the planet destroying punches...Gladiator containing a solar system destroying blast to the point that he created a star is>>>>>>>>planetary fts.

Yes, the art is vague. How does this in any way, prove your silly little theory that there is no atmosphere?

Yes, if he'd actually done that, it would be.

Yeah carv, when the heck did that happen??

The theory wasn't really silly since you don't see an atmosphere in the first scene of the planet while at the SAME TIME the narration says "lifeless rock".

It doesn't prove it. Proof is not always an option in comics. That is why we use evidence and reasoning to convince (not prove). I didn't notice the talk about a race of beings nor did I notice the blue hue in the 4th panel that could possibly be an atmosphere.

Take those 2 things away and the evidence supporting the planet not having an atmosphere is indisputable, do you agree?

Nope, from the comic itself.

I love how the scan says something happened that wasn't what you said happened earlier.

Well, not "love"... There's another word...

What's funny? Anything wrong with what I said? If so then point it out.
