it was 3 thors that fought not 1, and where are people getting that worlds were destroyed? i dont recall that happening at all

regardless, what is actually interesting about this is the fact that Gorr is apparently OMNIVERSAL. it was mentioned an issue prior to 9 i think.

He fought each Thor one on one in this issue.

When Thor was fighting Gorr, the narration stated "Thor ignored his own pain and the shattering of the worlds around him". The panel shows the planet below them breaking up and the moon next to them falling apart.

Thor noted "that's no empty moon" and Thor flew and held the moon together and repaired it with his powers".

I need not say more as someone will soon post the scans.

Interestingly the issue gave some possible origins to Gorr's weapon, one involved it being what the instrument the Elder gods used to shape the universe, it was also suggested that it was killed billion upon billions before Gorr and that its power will eventually consume the universe.

Nah..

I'll just wait for one of the Thorbags to do it.. Maybe Rage, Jake, or Dambo...

This is gonna be interesting. Sooner or later someone is gonna post the scans and settle this.

ill post the scans,

i was under the impression that you said that worlds were destroyed, hence why i used the word 'destroyed'

anyway here's the full fight, took me a while to upload considering they fought for most of the issue:

Hot damn, I love this story of Thor one of the best in years, Gorr is no joke, we head towards a great epic ending in this story. 😱

Pretty much.

We all knew Jason's Thor was powerful, like the first issue says Mjolnir can shatter entire planets like pebbles, broke Gor's chains something no God even ones as large as mountains could do (Not an exaggeration, we saw Gorr slaughter some huge God who use to wrestle black holes for fun).

All that collateral damage space cheese stuff while fun is secondary to the story, always has been with Thor. Bench pressing planets and shit is stuff you find in Superman/Hulk books.

Anyways, Thor going toe to toe with Gorr like he did is the impressive part since the dude is crazy powerful. I also like all the symbolic stuff in this issue, really illustrates the difference between someone like Thor and ordinary superheroes.

what i particularly disliked about those issues is that the omniverse and universe were used interchangeably:

issue 8:

issue 9:

http://i.imgur.com/vFA5glO.jpg

they're not even remotely the same.

Gorr > Skyfather

Thor = Planetary level strength.. Maybe beyond!

So thor made the planet's crust fracture and a moon to crack with several blows with a trans level being? Impressive but nothing diana can't do.

Gorr would rape Wonder Woman's face so hard.

Also, if we want to nitpick the damage around them, it said Worlds were shattering.

Good scans
Gorr in those scenes don't seem that powerful IMO. IMO powerful is one shotting heralds or one shot killing heralds.

Anyway why wasn't the moon destroyed when it was stated Thor ignored the shattering of worlds around him? Was that hyperbole? I didn't see any worlds but that moon, which wasn't shattered by Thor's hammer strikes.

Thanks for uploading the scans. Thor just gets more and more beastly in this series.

I'd say it really depends on the writer. Someone like Hickman can comfortably put in some solid feats in a comic without compromising the story. Someone like Pak is all about feats, and rarely about the story.

Thor is unique largely because characters like Superman and Hulk are mostly rip-offs of traditional mythological protagonists, while Thor already has his own mythology to draw upon for Marvel. Basically speaking, he's his own legend with millennia old tales(religious in nature) to build up his mythos.

Gorr's not that powerful?

He beat three Thors in the middle of the sun.

😐

Gorr would trounce Diana as well, barring something like her being fully equipped.

Gorr's been owning Thors for a while now. How is he not powerful?

Pfft, Diana kills those type of gods every monday.

uhuh

Again narration hyperbole as we only saw a planet's crust fracture and a moon's surface crack up.
