Yeah, I glossed over Surfer's Hail Mary Kamikaze Kamehameha.
Still, would that be considered "in character" for him? Obviously, he only did it once. And I don't think Surfer would resort to such a drastic attack on someone not named Galactus. And Kal would probably knock him off the board before it came to that.
Best bet is the mind rape, imo.
Yeah, Surfer's probably the most powerful character in any comic movieverse.
Shame F4 was so damned awesome.
Also, wasn't there special powers used to knock Surfer off his board? Considering the guy phased through his board and went upside down, I don't think it's as easy as simply knocking him off.
Plus he brought Sue back to life with a touch too. That's up there in feats.

Doom used that remote device later on to steal the Surfer's board.
So yeah, barring him applying some of that super-thinking to come up with a similar strategy as Reed, Supes isn't simply knocking the Surfer off his board.
