what moments in comics made you feel more than the typical read ?

some for me were:

Dan turpin slowly transmogrifying into darkseid.

jean killing sue.

the death of captain America.

nix utoan mourning over the loss of his reality.

invincible's first fight with conquest.

caiera's physical death at the hands of the bomb.

the death of captain America. was one of the happiest moments of my life

Gotta admit that All-Star moment with the goth/punk girl is very emotional.

Makes me want to read All-Star again.

Cap's death would have done something for me if Death of Superman had not happened a decade and a half before it.

Captain Marvel 2 and a half decades before.

You and your obsession with oneupping Superman. uhuh

I said for me because at the time I was 8 years old and was big on Donner films. Superman's death had a huge impact on me that year.

Wasn't even born during Marvel's death.

He stood alone at Gjallerbru and that answer is enough.

Too bad.

Have no idea what you're talking about, but I suppose it is enough?

Meh, I just think Mar-Vell's death was one of the best handled death in comics. Both in execution, and the after effects.

If we're talking about deaths not having an impact because of an earlier one, then Mar-Vell is the ultimate trump.

Although, Cap's death would have had a bigger impact for me had it no press before hand. Just out of nowhere.

Okay 👆

Captain America 285. Captain America runs into the Porcupine and is valiantly trying to end the fight quickly. We find out why in the end.

The last panel is Cap standing and saluting Jeffrey Mace. I think I cried when I read this issue back in 1983.

The Rhino story from The Gauntlet was a very emotionally engaging story. Flowers for Rhino too.

Even "overpowered" heroes can inspire.

👆

When Bennett killed Mishkin

That was awful

when Illyana Rasputin died

When Ted Kord was killed.

Not a comic, but when Buffy fought Angel when he turned into Angelus. ****er was opening a gate to Hell, succeeded, and before she could kill him, he's soul was returned.

But since the portal was already opened, she had no choice but to kill him and sentenced an innocent soul to suffer in hell.
