Where in the world would we find non-controversial judges?
I'm definitely biased, but the level of debating in these tourneys is something I haven't found elsewhere...including the Comicvine stuff (though that site as a whole is an excellent resource).
The CBR forums used to share a lot of the same members as us. But I also don't think they had any tourneys of this nature. Could be wrong, though.

CBR has said the same of our tier rankings. But it's impossible to make lists that appease everyone. Some are obviously more incomplete than others, but as a general gauge of power I think we do quite well.
What is this CBR League you speak of? Sounds interesting.
Are there other sites that do this sort of thing? I haven't found any outside the ones mentioned.
Rumblers League. The yearly tournament. The funny part there was the ability to purchase equipment to enhance your characters with prize points you got for victories.

The organizing website. The matches proper were held on their VS forum.
Never participated, though I'd probably have drafted Dante and Emma and then munchkined the hell outta them via equipment purchase rule. Being ridiculous fangirl I am.

If I remember rules well we are not allowed to leave our characters' prep bases during prep time, so don't worry, PG.
i'm.....not sure that is entirely true, tbh. i've asked for some clarification on a couple of things recently and was a little surprised by the answers. i think curry is allowing some....flexibility in the rules, so long as nothing exceeds the max levels and so long as we are still within the spirit of the characters involved. that said, no one can teleport to doom's place and take his stuff, obviously, nor can you use or access any other tech than the mind character's tech at their base. based on what we were discussing, is that a fair assessment curry?
No leaving the designated area when prepping.

Last time I checked CBR people still thought Mr.M was around abstract level.

Dear god, that's intricate. I also imagine there's about eleventy-billion loopholes to be found with their point system and draftable characters.

Well, there were a ton. There were also some CIS-negating items that were obviously the most chased for. And ton of good stuff.
Delph's Champions League had the potential to develop into KMC version of this. Too bad it died.
I mostly just love the draft list...
"Yes, I'll take Zoidberg, Darkwing Duck, C-3PO, Naruto, Magneto, and Frodo's Mithril Shirt."
I can't imagine having to judge those matches.

It would be "illegal" if I hadnt picked a mind who's "base of Operation" is mobile 😄
did no one pick up on that? as I recall our amalgams get the base of their mond character. Question has been " based " out of three different cities in his three last apprarances and completely nomad.
surely I'm not the only one who considered loop holes like that
They decided by poll, old system that was used in a couple of tournaments there. Set judges are KMC invention as far as I know, not practiced at CBR and Comicvine.
But teams may end up looking very crazy. As I've said, potential for fangirlism galore if I ever decided to participate.

You can't leave the prep base of your mind character, even if they have more than one. Doom's lab isn't even in the same universe as your mind character's

no, not the only one, but that only means you get access to HIS bases. and what is IN them. you can't "raid" others' bases (ie--going to doom's place) for tech. and doom is above the limit anyway....

hero chat still exists but a tivity is dwindling.
they don'thave tour eys on ckmic bloc any more and it has had lowered activity a lot in recent months .
there's also very little activity on comic lefder these days. a lot of the members who swore they would never return to CV because of the mess that one is did after two admins from CL became staff or mods on CV
both thos two wouldnt get enough these days to support a tourney, and I played a lot of fun ones on CL
I still miss the defunct DC boards their so called facebook site is crap by comparison
Mar el boards have also been lulz for ages
