I'm gonna get a lot of flak from my superfan friends but after Galan's explanation and re-reading FC #7, the feat is not really impressive, maybe that's why I had forgotten about it.
DS was basically shell a ghost of himself. The bullet had already did the work and killed him/his body. DS was going to use the machine to destroy superman. If DS was still multiversal, why would he need the machine? It's in the second panel, he is thanking superman for the gift that he will use to destroy superman.
Maybe superman is too powerful for a multiversal being and he needs superman's own devices to slay him? 😬

Darkseid was large enough to fit into a small room, he destroyed a fading echo of his malice. No one is going to buy the feat now, congratulations on ruining one of Superman's greater feats with your silliness even though it was mostly undeserved anyways.

...Which was BEFORE Darkseid had been struck by his own Omega Sanction and met the Black Racer(page 14)... BEFORE he'd been chained/bound by Dianna's lasso(page 23)... And BEFORE Superman stated that he was in the final stages of Radion poisoning(page 24.)
And again: as seen in the actual panel, Superman's counter-vibrations didn't expand beyond the Watchtower:
Which alludes flat-out shows us that Darkseid didn't literally encompass the entire multiverse. The sum-total of his essence(or what was left of it, at least) was contained in the Watchtower with Superman. It's right there on panel. Stop attempting to lie/deceive-- it's unbecoming.
