As Phil said, only if you look at the Gorr fight. But in general I say no

What do you mean enhanced power, Mjolnir?

Off topic question: Do you think Superman can destroy a planet?

What else would you do? Automatically discard any feat that involves another party? That's some ridiculous shit as most battle feats occur under such circumstances.

And how is giving Bill/Thor each 50% credit a slippery slope? We know they are pretty much identical in power on average.

Possible, but you'd have to provide strong evidence for that.

I think its a slippery slope because their combined hammer-attack might create an effect thats more than double their power. A feat they would not be able to replicate 50% of by their lonesome selves.

We shouldnt discard, just be wary of using them.

But what evidence do you have of this? I have read every Simonson issue and I can guarantee you that this was never implied even once. And he created Beta Ray Bill.

So this applies only to Thor/Bill because they have magical hammers or anyone?

If Bill can do it Thor can do it. Thor and Bill also busted a gate device larger than stars with a double Mjolnir throw. And he and Gorr were destroying planets as a side effect of their fight (and since the shockwaves were destroying them from space that takes exponentially more energy than attacking them directly due to the inverse-square law).

So basically unless you believe that Bill >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thor, this is a stupid question, and the answer is obviously yes.

We are talking about plain strikes here and not ramming into it from light years away like Bill did.

Off topic: I don't think DCuN52 Superman can destroy a planet on a get go. So far it was stated that his blows can destroys mountains, but no mention of destroying planet

As far as enhanced, I mean using his magical properties on Mjolnir, whether it be Godblast like or otherwise

I'm talking about Pre-Flashpoint Superman. So if it's said that DCnU Superman can destroy a planet, that's enough evidence that he can destroy a planet for you?

Lawlz.

Depends on the context of it. 😉

Pre-Flash point? Does OWAW count?

Why is Superman even being mention in this thread? What does he have to do with Thor? It's better to just create a Superman thread and discuss it there.

I'm just curious about something.

What context? Whether it's said by narration vs. a character?

Yes but no external amps.

Narration and Character is fine, it's how it's presented. How many times have characters said JohnMM was the strongest in the planet? So far, I've hear a dozen references on how Apollo is as strong as Superman but he every issue he gets worse and worse.

Can you please provide a scenario where such a statement is accepted? Do you believe this is evidence that Superman can destroy a planet:

Yes or no?

of coarse that's evidence, it's superman!

That statement can be viewed 2 different ways 😉
Capable with what? One punch? A lot?
He did say that he can destroy anything if he punches things long enough, so maybe that's how he destroys planets?

Also, didn't Superman destroy Saturn in OWAW?

Nope.

What? That doesn't even make sense. If he can't do it sans an amp of some sort, well then, you don't think he can do it. So why would you say:

"I think Thor can destroy a planet, just not purely using his strength. He would need to use some enhanced power"

Lol people are going to great lengths to try to discredit Thor's feat here.

Also, the magical chain reaction theory needs to be set in some sort of narration or precedent.

It makes perfect sense. See the Thor with Belt of Strength vs Exitar example I brought up earlier. With the amp, he hit Exitar so hard the entire planet shook and nearby mountain tops were reduced to rubble. I have no problem with Thor fans saying he would have busted a planet if he hit it directly with that blow.

But the point was he had an amp.

Just so people are clear about what Aaron thinks Mjolnir can do.

Why would you accept that feat but not the Gorr one where it was the equivalent of Thor's treating his face like Exitar's surface?
