seems Emily Blunt might be Catwoman...

Epic failure, this will be.

I like Blunt as an actress. I even think she could be a good Catwoman.

Holy **** though, how is this going to work?

Unless Snyder's Batman is somehow in a relationship with her or something?

Blunt is an awesome choice.

If they gave her the short jet black hair she could end up looking exactly like the comic version. Visually, I could see it. And she can act.

way too many characters in this even though i like emily blunt

It's only too many characters if they try to develop all of them in one movie, which they aren't.

I don't want to get my hopes up.

We don't know how much screen time these characters have. There have been movies with a lot of characters that work. X-Men DOFP, LOTR, Harry Potter, and now Avengers has added a few to their roster. Not a problem. Just depends on how you spread them out.

Snyder has already worked with an ensemble cast, so I'm not too worried.

True but if any of the focus is taken away from Batman V Superman, then that will be a big disappointment considering the title and the way it was announced in the first place. The only other focus on top of those 2 should be Lex Luthor, and perhaps another villain.

From what I read from someones Twitter (can't find the link), it's mainly a BVS show, with everyone sprinkled on top. Don't know how true this statement is, though.

Emily Blunt was actually cast as Black Widow before Scarlet Johanson decided to return in the role. I think she's a great choice for catwoman, but the most she'll be is a henchwoman. Bats v supes can't afford to spend screen time on her.

Yah but those casts have already established characters. Supes v Bats is trying to introduce way too many new major leading characters to their universe. The result will probably include some beloved characters getting the shaft.

Batman, Superman and Lex Luthor will take up the Lions share of screen time. Louis Lane and her reporter friends will require some screen time, as this movie is a continuation of MoS. Wonder Woman probably gets a lot of screen time.

Disagree. Like I said, past films has introduced many, many characters and it has worked out. Just because you have other characters like Cyborg and POSSIBLY Catwoman sprinkled on, doesn't mean it's going to ruin the film at all.

And how do you know WW is going to have A LOT of screen time? Have you read the script? From what I'm hearing, she'll be in small portions.

I want to, but I just can't at this point.

Too many characters, and either they'll take away screentime from Supes and Bats, or they'll be marginalised to the extent that they aren't given the attention they deserve.

A good article on why fans jump the gun and are over cynical without thinking.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/markhughes/2014/06/06/why-superman-fans-can-stop-worrying-about-batman-v-superman/

For months now, we’ve seen Superman fans asserting that Superman is being forgotten or pushed aside, that Warner appears to be abandoning Superman’s franchise altogether, and that Superman’s portrayal is suffering from lack of respect or faithfulness while headed toward even worse disrespect in the forms of mockery and beat-down at the hands of Batman. The general conclusion these fans have reached is that Warner intends on turning Superman into a sort of patsy, with Batman being the dominant character and representing arguments “debunking” the ideals Superman stands for, in a series of nothing but team-up movies that essentially ignore Superman.

And those fears jumped up several notches when Kevin Smith recently offered his own prediction that Warner will only pursue Justice League type team-up movies from now on, without solo films. He suggested Warner is really developing a multi-movie Justice League franchise in which each movie adds some new, bigger piece to the large Justice League universe. It’s all ultimately one big Justice League/DCU story, with different chapters, in other words. So that’s Smith’s characterization of what he thinks is going on. I’ll address Smith’s remarks in a moment, but just keep it in mind as it adds to the rhetoric denouncing the Warner Bros. plans as a betrayal of sorts of Superman on film.

Well, as the title of this article should make pretty clear, I don’t agree with the fears that the studio plans to disrespect Superman and stick his franchise in the trash can. I think first and foremost, fans of anything tend to be sensitive and have stronger reactions to anything related to the things they love as fans. And within the larger world of fandom, superhero fans tend to be some of the most sensitive and most likely to react strongly — and especially negatively — to even the smallest bits of information or rumor, or minor changes to anything in the course of adaptation.

That’s honestly a lot of what’s driving the current Superman fan concern about Warner Bros.’ plans now, and hopefully those fans will be willing and able to listen to some key information and understand that a lot of the negativity is fueled by hyperbole and rampant speculation that just assumes the worst due to overreaction and fear lacking real information.

So, let’s first look at ten key points:

Warner Bros. likes money;
Man of Steel made more than $668 million worldwide;
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is likely going to top $1.5 billion, if it’s remotely good;
Justice League is also likely going to top $1.5 billion, if it’s remotely good;
Warner Bros. pays attention to how films in this genre are performing at other studios;
Warner Bros. really likes money;
Warner Bros. is in the process of trying to get their superhero universe up and running;
Warner Bros. makes a lot of other movies besides superhero films;
Batman is probably still the most popular individual superhero in film, and definitely Warner’s most popular superhero;
Seriously, Warner Bros. loves money;

In the aftermath of Marvel’s The Avengers, look at the huge leap in box office for the most popular solo superhero franchise at Marvel. Iron Man suddenly doubled his box office draw, to more than $1 billion. Thor jumped nearly 45% to $645 million. Captain America became one of the elite superhero franchises, headed toward $720+ million.

Warner knows that teaming up Superman with Batman in the next film and then having him star in Justice League means the Superman franchise is about to get a huge boost. If Thor can get a big enough boost after The Avengers to nearly match Superman’s box office, and Captain America — a guy dressed up as an American flag and supposedly representing old fashioned ideals and moral sentiments — can end up surpassing Superman and almost everyone else at the box office in the aftermath of Marvel’s shared-world post-Avengers marketing machine, how much do you think Warner assumes Superman will make after a Justice League boost? Don’t bother getting your calculator out, I’ll just tell you the answer is “a lot.”

If Superman enjoyed the same sort of boost Thor received, that would put Superman’s next lone outing at more than $950 million. But even Superman only got half the God of Thunder’s box office bump, that would still push Superman over the $800 million mark when flying solo. Realistically, though, it’s likely that Superman would perform far better in the aftermath of the coming team-up films.

It’s generally understood that while Man of Steel was without a doubt a box office hit, the film slightly underperformed due to a few factors — mixed critical reception, some flaws in the story, the lingering hangover created by several years of constant media and fan narrative insisting Superman Returns was a disliked flop, and some audience uncertainty about whether Superman was really finally returning to top form in a franchise that would go the distance this time. Batman v Superman has an Oscar-winning writer and so much added great talent that it would be foolish to ignore those benefits and not think it gives the film better odds of fixing what went wrong in Man of Steel and appealing more to critics and audiences. Plus, audiences are now reacquainted with Superman and the next films will be building on a known quantity and existing brand again. And this is Superman, the most recognizable superhero in the world, existing in a world with Batman and Wonder Woman and others. I’d say he’s likely to enjoy a substantial boost after the two team-ups, and will bring in box office closer to the $900+ million range for his next solo movie.

And any fans who are worried that the studio would seriously not bother to ever invest in a Superman film again (which would cost LESS MONEY than bigger Justice League films full of extra high-paid actors, and which could be released in between team-up films down the road) needs to just step back and try to see things in a more objective, calmer light. Superman is a big, popular superhero brand, and after these next films he’ll be likely to have a massive jump in his solo box office potential, and Warner is well aware of that fact.

Fans need to learn more patience. These films are several years away, and the public knows very little about what’s in store. Nobody outside of the production has read the script, and nobody has seen footage yet. Heck, most of the public doesn’t know any of the cast except what’s been formally announced so far. So jumping to conclusions and assuming all the things that worried fans have been assuming — or even acting like there’s significant cause for believing any of it — isn’t helpful, and isn’t likely to give you an accurate perspective about these films.

I wish I didn’t have to keep reminding everyone that they don’t know very much, and that they are overreacting, and that we’re about to get a film written by an Oscar-winning screenwriter and directed by a man who loves these characters and has produced some of the finest comic book adaptations in cinema, staring a cast full of Oscar nominees and winners, all building a world that fans for years have been begging to see on film. So, I recommend everyone sit back and relax, and think about all the reasons there are to be excited for this film, and remember all the reasons I’ve explained that the fears are founded on overreactive speculation and rumor that jumps to conclusions.

How is that relevant to the Blunt concern?

What's the concern? Anyway, I don't invest too much into rumors. Haven't you guys learned your lesson yet? EVERY actor who was rumored to play a role has been FALSE. Josh Brolin as Batman. False. Cranston as Luthor FALSE. Driver as Nightwing. FALSE. Gina C. as WW. Fasle.

WB has done a good job at not leaking out anything. And most of their choices, hardly anybody picked up on.

The rumor started from a Latino site that doesn't have much credibility.

However, this is one rumor I hope is true. 😉

Yeah but those past films are quick to set up a world where is believable you have all these strange and supernatural or science fiction characters hanging around.

E.g. X-Men is a world full of mutants. So you can have random mutants popping up as cameos. LOTR takes place in Middle Earth. STAR WARS in a Galaxy far far away.

But when a superhero film takes place in modern day Earth and is going to introduce lots of super heroes/villains all with different origins and do it in 1 film, then things tend to get messy.

Spiderman 3 (even TASM2 to a degree) and heck even X-Men 3 all suffered from doing that. X-Men 3 had so many characters hanging around they had to start killing them off early in the movie. And because there was no time for a proper Phoenix and Juggernaut Origin, they were both done terribly. Both of those 2 could have been the main villain in 2 separate movies. And they could have been damn good movies too.

Honestly I want to be excited for this, but the more we hear the less excited I'm becoming.
