Btw, Henry Cavill had terrific credentials before being cast as superman. He led that awesome TV show The Tudors, he did lots of action and drama and he was an established leading man with loads of talent, potential and the right look.

Gal Gadot has never led in any significant project and most of her acting roles have been supporting. Her only notability is as a model, not an actress. She should still get the benefit of the doubt though, but her credentials pale in comparison to Henry Cavills' before superman.

I don't consider the Tudors and his part in it to be any more valid than Hemsworth in aussie soaps, and yet both men did fine for the most part.

Gadot might not have as much experience, but comic movies are full of people that had no experience in those kinds of roles and did extremely well.

It bodes well, IMO. Snyder usually does kick ass females in his movies, so I wouldn't be surprised if WW/Gal follows suit.

There are plenty of shitty actors in soaps too; it's not some stamp of success.

He wasn't exactly stellar in Cabin in the Woods either... Hell, he was only in half the movie too.

I'm not saying they don't have more experience than she does. They do. I'm just saying that in relative terms, they were still relative unknowns when they were cast, and there isn't a huge amount of difference between them and her going from where they started, to what they ended up in.

Gadot was in tv shows too; it's not like the only thing she's ever done is Furious.

Hoping she has a Quicksilver type scene in DOFP.

A highlight of the movie but only features in a couple of scenes, so not to take away from the movie being a Batman and Superman film.

Then everyone will look forward to the Wonder Woman solo film.

It's not about being well known though. Those guys were good actors, sought out by studios. Singer almost hired Caville for Superman Returns years before MOS.

It was a truly terrible move by WB Imho. But I'm still wishing her all the best in the role now, simply because I don't want WW screwed up.

You can't say it was a terrible move, since the movies not even out yet. IF she is terrible in the movie, then it would be a terrible move.

If she knocks it out of the park or is decent to good, then it won't be.

I have no idea what Snyder saw in her. But I have seen her acting in Fast and Furious, checked through her very small amount acting history and as far as I know no other studio is after her for any big projects.

Hell, atleast she auditioned and read for the part apparently, unlike phucking Erza Miller.

Well, people wanted Gina Carano and she isn't THAT good of an actress, IMO. Sure, she has a better body in terms of playing a super hero, but she would probably be god awful.

I think the big reason they hired Gal, is because she has charisma and charm on the screen. Certainly more so than Gina.

Oh, and supposedly she's big overseas, which would be a box office draw internationally.

If I was the kind of person that worried about those things, sure. Just like I would have worried about Cavill, Routh and Hemsworth.

Yet they did fine with what they were given. She has acting experience; a cursory glance at her IMDB shows at least two tv shows where she had recurring roles. Saying she was picked simply because she's a model is terribly misleading imo.
