WB to announce Superman/Batman & JLA movies

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

In the meantime, I don't think there's any reason to shit all over this movie, as much as there's none to act like it's the next Avengers.

I thought MOS was a fairly enjoyable movie. Sure it had major issues but I'm not writing off BvS just yet. Gonna watch it once in theaters for sure.

Truth.

Bryan Cranston would have been perfect with business politics and manipulation. Also he would actually be menacing. Lex Luthor is not supposed to be a quirky spas

I'm not too concerned, because we have seen Snyder handle a lot of characters and succeed. Watchmen was actually a fine film with many, many characters.

Besides, we shouldn't get too worried, because many of these characters are likely to be cameos only.

'Success' with adapting Watchmen is debatable. Watchmen had a road map laid out to follow, as a panel-to-shot adaptation. Snyder's first few films were just like that, or remakes of other films like Dawn Of The Dead. Letting him find the story... 😬

I wasn't happy when he got hired for Man Of Steel. That the film succeeded as much as it did, I felt was a matter of how much Synder was kept leashed. He still isn't regarded as a great director by critics, despite Warners publicly pumping his tires every few years. I just wait and hope for the best, every film of his that comes out.

If they stick to the trinity in the next film and Vic Stone is just a cameo role for now, that works better. It's all in how you tell your narrative. In The Winter Soldier, Cap has confrontations with five different bad guys (Batroc, Crossbones, Arnim Zola, Alexander Pierce and The Winter Soldier) and it works beautifully because of how they are placed in the story. The film doesn't feel overstuffed at all; put that many in a Spider Man film, well... 😬

I don't know. I think Snyder has grown in each film he does. And I'm hardly a fan of his.

based on what? you not liking the casting?

Why, as a Batman fan, are you so put-off by it all?

too many people are in this... they should have just made this where batman and superman meet for the first time onscreen, fight a little and then team up to take down the bad guys all the while have cameos of other heroes to eventually spin them off and then bring back everyone for one singular purpose instead its nothing but a rush job and rush jobs tend to get people fired..

as a batman fan the next incarnation has to be done right otherwise its back to the drawing board.. i said the same thing to several friends back in '95 and '97.. i also said the same to my friends back in 2004 when it was learned that WB was bringing back Batman...

If this movie works out, I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong. But as it seems now, this movie is gonna be Avengers - without the character development, back story, momentum or payoff that generally comes from long term commitment to characters. Also it won't have those small, golden whedon moments that made Avengers so memorable.

I also hope Snyder doesn't go too far in the Nolan direction. MoS 2 doesn't need to be excessively gritty or dark.

It's already been confirmed by some sources that it's mainly about Superman. Having other heroes doesn't necessarily mean the JL. It's going to be Superman with others sprinkled on.

Campea addresses the issues here. All makes sense. They shot a football scene, which might be Fisher's only cameo. He'll have a SMALL part. A prequel to the JL.

Well it's good if they keep the other characters' roles fairly small. That will help with the plot and make the story more about what people want to see.....Batman vs Superman 😈

don't you mean Batman beating up Superman (SORRY PR) 😄 😈 💃

Watching MOD on TV now. It's a great movie. WB should have confidence in it being it's own big franchise without just turning it into Justice League Imho.

Having Batman in the sequel is great since we've had so many solo Batman films already. But there needs to be other Solo franchises before Justice League comes along.

The difference there is the Watchmen didn't all need their own origin story fitted in. The Justice League do.

Meh, we have been over this. I dont agree they need solo films for each character. What needs to happen is good pacing and on top of that there will surely be solo films.

So how are they going to build hype for it? Audiences won't care about most these guys, so there will be more hype for Supes vs Bats than for Justice League, which would be kind of sad.

Fact is WB doesn't have a proper plan in place which we can see from Goyer's interviews "I don't know, I don't know" and they're just rushing into Justice League Imho.

They have already built a subdtantial amount of hype already. If the movie is good, viewers will be more invested in the solo movies.

At work, genius. Im in and out of my phone.

Could this be?

http://batman-news.com/2014/04/25/rumor-jason-momoa-joins-batman-vs-superman-cast/

And

Well.......

....with today's news of casting Cyborg, it all but seals something I was hesitant to talk about before until it was 'confirmed'. Something that many had mentioned and assumed, but there was no actual 'official' word yet. But this pretty much gives it away.

Yes...this film will act as a launching pad for the Justice League...a la Avengers, with cameos by heroes for future installments. One of the reasons why I didn't want to say it for sure was because there was no official word/news even though it doesn't really come as a surprise, and I didn't know how long they would try to keep it secret et al. They're cameos, after all, so like in Incredible Hulk w/ Stark at the end it could have been something they were saving as a late surprise or the like. And I didn't want to be the first to let the cat out of the bag.

Also...the reason why I found this out a while back was because of the delay...and also why I wasn't sharing that reason for the delay before. The reason for the delay, as I was told, was because they were still negotiating with the actors for those cameos (the 'E' I hinted at before) and future roles…meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow. They apparently didn't want to move forward until they had more of this secure…so they held off starting production for a few months. So as you can see…seemingly simple reason, but the implications are pretty darn huge. Strangely, it wasn't about Affleck or Eisenberg, or the script, or a lot of things that were assumed.

Technically, that hasn't yet been directly 'confirmed', but it's all but spelled out with the inclusion of Cyborg, and I won't be commenting yet on who else will be appearing. But this is what I was referring to starting back in Feb….

And here…

http://forums.superh....&postcount=207

"o.c.c.m.f.s." - other cameo cast members' future schedules.

So now we all know.

I, like many, figured the delay upon first hearing was because of script issues...especially when the word of Terrio coming on board spread. But when I found out the real reason, it's probably not what many would guess because it seems so simple...cameos, how long would that take a few days? Seemingly something that could be scheduled rather easily on the fly amongst eight months of shooting, right? But then when you think about it, if they want to lock these actors in for these roles, you're looking at some seven-ish years of commitment over multiple films, and that's a lot to ask and to negotiate.

So they apparently felt strongly enough about this to push the start of this monster's production by three months while they secured things more (for miniscule parts in THIS movie), which then threw off release by an entire year. I gotta say, that seems like a pretty impressive and decisive commitment to this whole JL/Shared Universe thing, as opposed to the half-assery that many assumed.
