So 100 bullets will be a movie now?.......i'm reading it was going to be a tv show with David S Goyer involved with it but it eventually got turned down by Showtime when a multitude of mass shootings across the United States happened.

Anyway, sooo happy for a SHAZAM movie.

Yeah that's good news! And it's about time!

Things are looking up.

Where has there been news regarding a SHAZAM movie?

For movies, they only have firm plans for Batman vs. Superman and Justice League right now, and JL can't come any sooner than 2018-19.
All these other big screen properties they've talked about for years - Wonder Woman, Flash, Metal Men, Sandman - it's still nothing but talk to date. No attached talent or director.

Clearly, they are going to have to trust a director other than Zack Snyder to work on them, if they want to get going. 😄

Well The Rock's playing someone. We don't know who yet though. If it's Black Adam that would be confirmation of a Shazam movie I guess.

Silverman also confirmed Warner Bros. has several other DC/vertigo Comics adaptions in development, including Shazam, Metal Men, 100 Bullets, and Fables.

Very vague term, to be fair.

Looks like one of my speculations could be right.

Well, it's more than likely true for SHAZAM. Rock did hint one of his fav super heroes is Black Adam. And it was heavily implied.

Fables would do good as a trilogy. So much potential there.

A lot of DC stuff has potential, and I hope they get made. Just not ready to get my hopes up just yet.

They're just rushing into JL trying to catch up to Marvel (which isn't even going to happen for the next 10+ years anyway).

Whose even going to care about JL? All the hype will be for Batman vs Superman. That will be the mega hit here. Whilst JL will just seem like an overcrowded sequel to BvS. There won't be anywhere near the kind of hype for it that Avengers had.

And how are they going to deal with Origin stories? Are we just going to have to accept going in that there's all sorts of random superheroes in this Universe? Or are they actually going to attempt to explain the Origins of each of the JL members in the JL movie?

It just makes no sense at all IMHO. It's going to be a very long time before they catch up with Marvel on the big screen (if ever). Heck I'm more excited for Fox's future plans with their Marvel properties.

i agree.. i mean how are people going to care for these random people who all of a sudden come out of the woodwork and display powers/abilities

It all depends on who they get to make these films.

John Campea says it perfectly. There is no need to do solo movies before the JL movie.

I can't say I didn't see this coming. I wish I could be more excited, but not when WB is rushing to have a team up with no build up. Metal Men, 100 Bullets, and SHAZAM get the benefit of being in development, but not one solo movie for a Justice League character? Kevin Tsujihara is listening to the wrong people.

Nine movies are in development for WB.

Confidence is a good thing, but I don't see where he says it "perfectly" about them not doing solo movies.

I still think it's a mistake, and that at least one or two of the others should have solo movies first. Diana, Arthur, GL, or even Flash.

It's a risk, imo. If it pays off, great. If not? It'll be hard not to feel let down after waiting as long as I have.

I saw the article in the previous pages. Other than the Justice League news, that article could have ran five years ago and it would be just as valid today. Talk talk talk; it's cheap. Heck, I'm surprised they didn't bring back the story about Akiva Goldsmith developing The Doom Patrol, or Guy Ritchie doing Lobo and/or Sgt. Rock (first it's WW2, then it's the far off future!) just to prove they're busy.

Remember in late May 2012 when DC & Warners announced Justice League was going to be released by May 2015, in a lame bid to upstage Marvel's monstrous success with Avengers?

Talk talk talk...Names. Dates. Schedules. Actors being cast and cameras rolling; that's when I take them serious. Their current pace of 1 movie every 2-3 years isn't going to catch them up to Disney & Marvel any time soon.

Kevin T already said more film series are going to be announced several weeks ago. I remember you saying a JL movie wouldn't happen and that MOS wouldn't start a cinematic universe. Yet, here we are. 😉

Also, this was also announced TODAY.

The Journal’s reporting is based on the premise that Warner Bros. has serious catching up to do with Marvel Studios. It begins by citing a 2013 quote from Warner Bros. then-executive vice president of business development fretting that “the studio's DC Comics unit might lose a generation of young fans if it didn't catch up to rival Marvel in the business of making superhero movies.”

"We're not going to let that happen," Kevin Tsujihara, now the CEO of Warner Bros, reportedly declared.

The man is certainly not messing around.

I would love a Shazam movie.

Because there is no right formula. We can agree to disagree til the cows come home, but we won't know if it's a failure until the films come out. I'm in the boat by them not copying Marvel.

Tons of things are risks. A lot of movie studios in the past few years has had many bombs.

If WB can't sell their top Dog past Captain America how can a clone of Superman going to do it? I feel DC needs to look at what Sony is doing and sell the villains vs Superman or Batman because outside of maybe The Titans they never put any of these heroes out front.
