What? It's not just about, I'm a comic book fan, so I'm going to enjoy JL regardless of how they set it up. End of the day I'm a movie fan as well, and want to be interested in the movie reinventions of these characters before the big team up for my own enjoyment.

I mean Jeez do you honestly think we would have enjoyed Avengers just as much without having seen any of the Marvel Solo movies first?

It's important to like these characters on the big screen, and it's important for us to be happy/satisfied with where they have all come from on the big screen (i.e. their origins). And if the movies already exist, but I haven't seen them all, then at least I would be aware of that, and would expect to be missing out on bits. Like walking into Spider-Man 2 without watching Spiderman 1. I would know this is a sequel, and would just accept then that I've missed out on some of the backstory there.

But a movie with no origins or character development anywhere for the majority of these random, unrelated superheros? That's just strange.

So, do you think you'll enjoy the JL/BVS movies? If not, I'm going to put you down as one of the posters who thinks that it will suck.

I'm sure people will enjoy it, just not as much as they potentially could have had their been solo movies first. And Gal Gadot will suck.

If I or you enjoy it, that's all that matters. The solo movies for Marvel didn't make me enjoy Avengers more. Some of those were just there.

that or he just blindly loves a certain company no matter what they put out 🙂

Not really. Most of the first solo movies got average reviews. At least on IMDB, which thousands of users vote on. I'm hardly the only one who thinks this. The Hulk movie was one of my favs, that should tell ya something. 😉

Ok, maybe I am odd.

I've been hating on most of the DC movies WB puts out, so no.

He'll suck, but not more than Gadot.

Idk Lex probably has a bigger part with which Eisenberg can suck at.

Yeah, Eisenberg cast as Lex sucks. I've seen people suggest that "Now You See Me" shows that he could play the role well. Well, I saw the film the other day and was not impressed. Sure, Eisenberg can play an arrogant little smart ass well, but he had absolutely no menace.

Watch The Double. He's been getting rave reviews for that.

"Eisenberg gives a very surprising performance as both Simon and James. As Simon, Eisenberg is basically playing the same role he’s repeated throughout more than half of his career thus far, the socially awkward inept dweeb. As James, though, Eisenberg shows range that I’ve never seen him do before. Eisenberg may have been good in films like The Social Network, but his range has never been pushed this far. As James, Eisenberg is controlling, menacing and even at times, surprisingly a little suave. His performance as Simon takes a change in range as well, as Simon begins to lose it. When Simon starts to become insane and has a breakdown, Eisenberg performs so well he’s practically playing a completely different character than the one that he did at the beginning of the film".

I'll look into it.

Anyway, who do you guys think should be the villain? DC has so many potential villains to choose from it's incredibly difficult. I'm thinking Braniac or Starro would work out great. But I'd be more than happy to see Darkseid as well.

For Batman vs Superman the villain should be Lex Luthor

For justice league Braniac would seem like a copy of Marvel's Ultron. I would say Darkseid

They could do Despero for Justice League. Darkseid is good, but too soon imo.

Brainiac is quite different from Ultron. I think the bigger problem with him is it would be another alien invasion.

I'd rather them not do Despero. I've never been a big fan of the character.

As for Darkseid, the thing is with the JL they have plenty of villains bigger than him that they could do afterwards. Like the Anti-Monitor or the CSA. Heck, with Darkseid it doesn't even need to be a full on alien invasion in his first appearance.

Doesn't matter since Marvel would release Thanos by that time too. If it's 2018, then we will see both Darkseid and Thanos. If DC pushes it back to 2019, Darkseid will look like a copy.

That's been so played out in the comics and cartoons. Save Darkseid for later on after a build up. They should go with Starro the Conqueror. Have him attack Earth looking for Martian Manhunter for some reason.

Looking forward to BvS. That will be huge, and it's about time they gave us that one.

Not very hyped for JL at the moment. The way they're rushing and overcrowding it, it's potentially the next Spider-Man 3.
