Looking forward to the flame wars.

Saw the trailer or teaser trailer I should say, I remember way back when I saw captain America: The first avenger and at the end there was a toaster trailer for avengers...that got me really excited for avengers. The teaser for BvS...has failed to replicate that excitement.

Your not the only one

but yet there are some folks on this forum that seem to get its more of a DC hate from Marvel fanboys 🙄.....which is not the case.

Well this won't be as big as Avengers, that's for sure. It had the potential to be, but I just don't see that happening with Snyder at the helm.

Way too early to call. This can still reach 1b, imo. There is hardly any competition for nearly 8 weeks and it has Batman.

sorry that's all i'm getting from your posts in here

and WB's made DC movies aren't popcorn blockbuster movies?.....yeah keep living in denial.

Wait what? How am I hating any movies from a particular company?

I didn't like MOS either but I didn't hate it just because it was cool thing to do . If I like or hate a movie, it's my own choice and not due to a particular inclination to a company.

It will defo make 1 billion. Anything less than that and something has gone terribly wrong either with the film or the marketing.

But I don't see it making Avengers numbers, even though the potential was definitely there.

While I think the movie would've benefited from a director better equipped to direct such a movie, I don't see a problem with Snyder handling the action scenes.

But maybe the combination of Synder being at the helm and the mixed reception of MoS is what's keeping this movie from the Avengers-like hype.

Though I will be peeved if this makes less than IM3.

^ I think it will make about as much as IM3.

Snyder's great at action sequences and visuals, but he's not just directing the action scenes, he's directing the whole thing.

So yeah with the mixed reception of MOS people are not over excited for this (well excited not as excited as they could/should have been). And what's worse is that Snyder is doing Justice League as well.

They're risking too much on that guy IMHO.

What tone?
The tone they are using 👆

Won't have a clear understanding how much this film will do until around January. WB is smart with marketing, so I have no doubt they'll market the crap out of this. It'll break some records that's for sure.

Dude, the film is little less than a year away. It's only a teaser that has produced a lot of positive buzz on Facebook alone. More than 15 M views in less than a day.

Remember when they showed the Comic con footage and the photo of WW? It surpassed Avengers Age of Ultron with positive word of mouth and buzz easily. Trust me, people are stoked about this. Don't let the internet tell you different. The internet doesn't show the majority of the people what they think.

Say what you will for plot holes, but the TDK trilogy were ambitious films, and they brought a lot of goodwill to comic book movies. The DC Cinematic Universe, based on MoS and the trailer for DoJ, seems shallow as f.uck. It's mostly focused on the visuals and the action scenes, with a little bit for plot and almost zero for characterization. It's like we have regressed to a pre-Batman Begins standpoint.

S.hit, I enjoyed Green Lantern more than Man of Steel.

I have no clue how you came to this conclusion. The trailer showed very little action and instead focused on atmosphere and charcterization. Sure, it may be that you are correct. But the trailer itself is completely contrary to that statement.

Seriously, some people clearly going in wanting to hate it. Hell, I've seen someone complain about how Supes could hear Batman's "bleed" line in the rain. He even asked if we are supposed to beloved Supes developed super-hearing...

I'm with Ares on these points

Well, I'm basing my opinions on what I thought of Man of Steel. I don't see any reason as to why DoJ will be any different. Believe me, I WANT to like this film, but the trailer doesn't give me any reason to.

"Tell me, do you bleed?" doesn't sound badass to me. It sounds lame. I have no faith that the writing will improve from MoS.

I'm not saying that you have to dislike the film, but I think I'll pass. Call me when they make a Hitman(DC version, not the video game) film.

TDK was ambitious in the sense of "let's take this seriously and make it earnest."

Where it FAILED in said ambition is taking a Batman story and characters and removing all of the fantastic elements of the DCU.

You want to discuss characterization, let's discuss the lack of characterization in those flicks. Bane? Robin Blake? How about Batman himself? The dude was Batman for what, two months before he retired for 8 years? Selina Kyle? Come on, man.

If we want to read into the shallow-ness of characterization brough forth by a two minute trailer, you're reading too much into a TEASER and barely looking into MoS for that. We can criticize a lot of the other superhero flicks out there for lack of depth in characters. Yes, even Marvel

He had been Batman for years before the end of TDK iirc.
