Then he shouldn't have been writing a story about those characters.

Without Miller's influence in re-inventing Batman towards an adult audience, we would never had the transition to the big screen. Burton would've never seen the potential & we could've easily ended up with a Batman movie/franchise aimed at kids.

Miller after all coined the phrase, The Dark Knight.

No one denied that.

Err Neph did...hence my reply.

I don't feel like he denied Miller's influence. Looked to me like all he meant was that Miller should've used original chars if all he wanted was to express his political views of the time.

I could be wrong though.

What I tend to find is that there's distinctly 2 groups of people when it comes to liking/acknowledging Miller's influence to Batman.

The 1st group is people who are old enough to have read TDKR when it first came out in 1986 & then see Miller's influence on writers & artists alike.

The 2nd group is a younger generation who tend to compare things backwards (like reboots are better than originals). I know I'm generalising but this younger generation would've probably have read TDKR in the last 5-10 yrs & then compare it unfairly to recent, current story arcs.

Miller's influence on the genre can't really be denied. However, his, well, nuttiness, combined with how he writes Superman (and I'm not just talking about DKR), makes me wonder if he should be involved at all.

I read some of his stories, and I feel his dark and sometimes really weird style wouldn't merge well with a Superman sequel in tone. He's written some good Dark Knight stories but not much for Superman.

thats just it though, despite the rumor I really don't think that he actually will be

As much as everyone likes to shit on Jeph Loeb, I think he nails the whole Batman/Superman and Bruce/Clark dynamic right on the money.

Agreed.

He does have a lot of shit books out there though.

I'm not familiar with Miller writing Superman apart from TDKR.
What Superman issues has he done?

Ryan Gosling is also being considered for a lead role in the next Star Wars movie.

All his blow-jobs must finally be paying off.

He must be good.

He's actually decent now.

so... since Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out May 1, 2015, does anyone think that this whether it is called World's Finest(the best title, IHMO) or Batman v. Superman(good title but not really needed) will come out either two weeks afterward or perhaps be saved for 4th of July week???

I think they should stay as far away from Avengers as possible, tbh.

I'd assume they would release it in mid-late July. WB always seems to be the only company that releases a major blockbuster during that time period.

Releasing near an Avengers movie would be a horrible gameplan for them.
