Yeah but the difference is that Hathaway has proven to be a good actress. Gadot on the other hand has not.
Good actors don't always play good comic-book characters, and besides, everyone has to start somewhere.
I don't see what's so bad about saying "wait and see". If she sucks, WB will hear about it.

I thought it was horrific, tbh. I'd take Michelle Pfieffer's Cat Woman over Hathaway's any day, hammy as it was. That said it wasn't really Hathway's fault that the character was bad so much as it was the writers', and as far as body-type, there isn't as much of an obvious dissonance between Hathaway's build and Selena's... due mostly I think to the fact that she spends the entire role covered up anyway.
Oh, Pfeiffer was far better, no doubt. Hathaway was still far better than I expected her to be, though.

To each their own, but that's a silly compromise to make- film is a visual medium.Henry Caville could be the best actor in the world, but if he was 5'5 and 110 pounds no one would say that his looks aren't important.
No, looks are important. I just don't think Gadot is so far removed from Diana that a good performance couldn't sell her as the character.
