Just because someone brings up worrying aspects of a trailer doesn't automatically make them a fanboy. Alot of Marvel AND DC fans have raised valid issues with the trailer. Notably:

1) Bad CGI
2) Shouldn't have shown us Doomsday yet
3) Lex Luthor is awful

Now, it's a TRAILER. So alot can change. They can brush up their cgi and make it look better. And for all we know Luthor won't act that way the entire way through the movie. So, the movie could still be good; it's just the trailer put some doubt in alot of minds.

I think Luthor is acting that way in public to disguise that he is a power mad psycho.

On your number 2; why is that such an issue here when we've been shown the main villain before release in basically every MCU and DCU film prior?

Because it's DC and therefore automatically bad.

If Marvel did that it would be considered one of the greatest reveals in world history.

I hope this is correct and Eisenberg does a fantastic job of being a proper Lex, but imo, my initial fears when it was first released that he was cast in the role will be spot on, he's going to suck and could single-handily bring this film down a few notches.

Great villains make great movies; we're not getting that with Eisenberg. He won't do to Lex what Ledger did with Joker, not even half-way, imo.

edit. dp

The trailer just makes me think this is going to be awful. And with the track record of Man of Steel, I just don't see how it could not be...

Because, the premise of the MOVIE is Batman VS Superman. That's what I wanted the bulk of the trailers to be about. It was the main attraction so to speak. By showing us Doomsday and the third act, (as well as the trinity standing united); it already bypassed the Batman vs Superman part of the movie and went straight into Dawn of Justice. And this is not just my opinion. Alot of people feel this way.

LOL NO. If Marvel made a trailer like this I would be ripping it to shreds as well. I'm objectively looking at it. I liked the first BvS trailer alot. This second one isn't as good for alot of the previous reasons.

Just like Marvel fans were so sure AOU would be even better than Avengers.

I don't see Eisenberg matching Ledger at all.

The best thing about this film will be the heroes IMO.

I think WW is going to steal the show. Love the dialogue of the film already. Much better than MOS so far.

Fair enough. DD didn't bother me as the entire plot basically being spilled, unless there's some dazzling secret arch we don't know about; I'd not bet on that though.

I'll tell you one thing I loved about the trailer. I loved the interaction between Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent. Especially if both men knew who they were actually talking to at the time (which I think they do...) The "Freaks dressed like clowns" line was particularly awesome.

It doesn't look good. In other words, when you can look at something and see that it's obviously CGI, that's not good. MoS did a better job with it's special effects than this movie. HOWEVER, see below:
Yes, sometimes they spend the remaining months ironing out the "kinks"...so that is my hope. I hope they make the CGI look a little more realistic before the movie launches cause as I said, I don't want Clone Wars all over again.

Not sure I agree with that logic. Plenty of things are obviously CGI, but are still considered good.

If you want to talk about bad design or artistry, that's different, but bar Trollday, I didn't really see a whole lot in the trailer to suggest that the CGI would be THAT bad, though. A bit more polish and it'll be fine.

hell, it IS weta that's working on this, after all.

Darth Thor excellent words...

it's horrible... whoever added in the cgi needs to be fired. I do hope someone is adding in better cgi effects so the finished product will be something good instead of shitty

See above.

That's kind of irrelevant though. Good companies can do bad work. In my opinion, the cgi is "off". But, as I said earlier, there is still time for them to improve upon the cgi before release. I suspect they will and expect that it will be a much better looking movie by then. We shall see.

WB is using Weta Digital for a massive scene in BVS. I'm not too worried about the special effects.

I'm just curious as to how it's "off".

I don't think it's irrelevant when the company has an excellent track record.

shrug

That's like saying if Sony made a Playstation 4 with Wii U graphics, it'd be okay because hey, "It's Sony!".

I like Weta and yes, they do have a pretty good track record; but for whatever reason, their CGI is really overdone and fake looking. Everything from Supe's heatvision and alot of the energy effects just look bad. Doomsday's design is another story, but the quality in my opinon isn't very good. AGAIN, they have time to work on it. Hopefully they will.
