That's like saying if Sony made a Playstation 4 with Wii U graphics, it'd be okay because hey, "It's Sony!".

I like Weta and yes, they do have a pretty good track record; but for whatever reason, their CGI is really overdone and fake looking. Everything from Supe's heatvision and alot of the energy effects just look bad. Doomsday's design is another story, but the quality in my opinon isn't very good. AGAIN, they have time to work on it. Hopefully they will.

No it isn't.

Doomsday's design isn't the cgi's fault, though. They only animate what they're told to animate. I thought the heatvision looked fine, but that's me.

Yes it is, it's exactly that. You're implying that squarely by name and reputation alone the cgi looks good. Now, if you want to defend it by saying "in your opinion" it looks good that's understandable and even defensible. But you cannot say that just because it's Weta it's great.

I agree that Doomsday's DESIGN isn't their fault; but he looks pretty fake to me. As I said, I'm sure they'll work on alot of this as time draws to a close. I'm not as worried about the bad cgi as I am about the Horrible Lex Luthor representation.

I'll tell you one thing I loved about the trailer. I loved the interaction between Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent. Especially if both men knew who they were actually talking to at the time (which I think they do...) The "Freaks dressed like clowns" line was particularly awesome.

Yeah, got that vibe too that they both know each other's secret identity, but were not aware the other knew in return. Both being smug asses taking jabs, thinking the other was ignorant.

I didn't imply that at all. I brought up weta because they aren't exactly new to this, and there was a shitload of cgi in that trailer that looked perfectly fine to me. they have a pedigree, and a standard, that I would expect them to meet. if they don't, ill be disappointed.

Lex will either be great or shit, imo. No middle ground.

Fair enough. We can agree to disagree then. You think the cgi is good. I think it's sub-par.

To be clear, I didn't particularly like AoU's cgi either... However, watching it in blu-ray is definitely the way to go. Otherwise Ultron looks god-awful in standard dvds.

Not seeing anything wrong with the CGI either. It looks no better or worse than most major blockbusters today.

LOL NO. If Marvel made a trailer like this I would be ripping it to shreds as well. I'm objectively looking at it. I liked the first BvS trailer alot. This second one isn't as good for alot of the previous reasons.

There is nothing objective about it. It's entirely subjective.

Anyway, I don't think the trailer is bad per se, but it's certainly not a good one. Yet, ironically enough, it assuaged many of my fears for this movie and I'm looking forward to this film far more than when the first trailer was released.

These are my thoughts to a T.

That and Lex. Dear god, what did they do to him? One of the greatest villains in comics has been reduced to Jesse Eisenburg. Who saw that coming?

Hey, I said "fine" lol. Not the same as good.

If it isn't as good as AoU's, i'd be disappointed tbh, but there was a lot of CGI in that trailer that at first and second glance, looked all right to me.

I wouldn't count them out yet.

Yah, at least I wasn't as harsh as Angry Joe lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRo26X06ZMw

He's a funny guy, but overreacting to everything is kind of his thing.

I still think it's an utter shame using Doomsday though. He should have never been in this movie.

Watch Doomsday be the highlight.

Probably the most powerful villain, yet.

He already can take most of the MCU.

Even if Doomsday evolves and looks better and is just a beast in the movie, it still is too soon from Warner Bros. imo. DC deserves better than this. I agree with Angry Joe that Red Kryptonite Superman or Bizarro would have been much better enemies, or even Battle suit Luthor. I'm of the opinion that if you're going to use Doomsday on film, HE HAS TO KILL SUPERMAN!! At least let them kill eachother. And who knows, maybe that will happen but I doubt they'd kill Supes so early in the DCU. I'll obviously wait and judge the movie after I see it, but man; Doomsday already....

DD is a good one to bring the trinity together. Anything else would seem cheap, IMO.

Saying that ignores the entire point of the character within the mythos. If Superman doesn't die in some grand gesture, using Doomsday becomes utterly pointless and wasteful.

They could have easily used Metallo, Bizarro, or even had someone from Batman's side of things team up with Lex.

I still don't agree about Bizarro or Metallo. Not a fan of either of them and having the big three against those would feel cheap.

Why? Both are more than powerful enough to give all three a fight.

By doing this they're taking focus off Superman.

Howz it cheap when the film had been marketed (up until now) as Batman V Superman?

They'd be cheap for a JL movie main villain, but not for this. They'd be kind of perfect for this film IMO.
