But as I said, I think he will be just fine. If Batman fails, it won't be Affleck's fault. It will be the fault of the scriptwriters. I believed him as Daredevil, it was only that film's weak script which made it suffer. I mean come on, the guy made Argo. He can't be that bad.

Question is though, is being "just fine" good enough for Batman being as iconic as he is and after the massive hit he's been over the last decade?
But I agree it's not all down to Affleck. It will be down to the story, script and direction as well. But the casting is a pretty big part to it too.

I agree. It will take a moment for me to see Affleck as Batman, but I'm sure he'll do just fine. He definitely puts care into everything he does, plus he's got Kevin Smith for advice lol.
I think the main problem TBH is the voice. Batman has always been imagined as having a deep voice. Bale was already criticized for his Batman voice, and Affleck has a sort of light, high-pitched voice that could sound laughable if deepened. This is even what the video pointed out, the uploader saying essentially that he can't imagine Ben Affleck's voice being the voice of Batman. I agree, but if they can find some way around this, and I'm sure they will, everything should be right as rain.

Idk I just can't see it. I never liked him in anything that was taken seriously really. Anyways if he pulls it off then yay for him....if not well its the end of the franchise and there wont be a justice league. I feel like they are taking too big a chance here. This won't be like the Nolanverse batman. He won't be brought down to a more human level. Lots of people are already determined to hate it just based on it being "comicbookie"....if Ben doesn't wow people then I doubt it will be a hit anyways.
Daredevil s^cked, and s^cked badly.. Affleck was horrible, Jen Garner was bad.. the story s^cked.. glad the property is back with Marvel so looking forward to a much better version when Marvel decides to reboot Daredevil..
Whedon is most likely being condescending as he knows Marvel doesn;t have anything to worry about ..
can't wait to read that Jen Garner is playing Wonder Woman..

nah Bale had the perfect Bat voice,, Keaton, Kilmer and Clooney never did.. Affleck since this will be filmed entirely in Boston will be using the same accent he had in The Town
