And I like the cut of your job.

I may offer you a fair share if you are pimptastic enough to raise the aforementioned cut.

What do you say?

I read someone has started up a petition to get WB to change Ben Affleck.

Pr, let's be honest, you'd be okay with it if they cast Rob Schneider... that's how much you want Aquaman to be involved.

Let's not be silly, now.

All i'm going to say is this: When Keaton was cast, people were not happy at all, and yet he played a Batman that many people still consider to be the best live action one.

Second, after Hathaway as Selina, I don't think it's fair to prejudge Affleck, especially with the good acting performances the guy has made.

Yes, he might suck, but this is just OTT, imo.

If that happens in 2015 then he's setting it back to Batman Begins.

And I'm okay with that.

I think if this movie fails then they will either 1) start their shared universe with Justice League or 2) abandon it entirely.

that would be a pretty big achievement for one guy. and i still think people are overreacting.

I respect Ben for doing this. While the very thought of him as Batman irritates the crap out of me, he has a right to defend himself from all the flak he's getting.

That clip is from a movie made in 2001, but it does feel relevant. Ha.

What does fail mean? Because even if the movie sucks it's still going to reel in $. The public wanks off to Batman, just having his name on it is like 500 million worldwide. Thus Justice League will be made.

The Hulk, Thor and Captain America were average movies at best. IM2 sucked completely. But people were so excited for the Avengers it didn't matter. I really doubt this is going to "fail."

Whether or not it's good remains to be seen but then again people already have a predetermined opinion on DC and Marvel movies.

Since you used the box office route, Those movies didn't suck.

Henry Cavil for batman and superman!!

That was the point. Those movies weren't anything special quality wise but it succeeded in getting money. Superman/Batman will definitely make money.

This won't be Green Lantern. The average person doens't give a fvck about GL. It's not going to fail. Fall short of expectations, possibly yes, but fail? Nope.

Each to their own i suppose, when it comes to the quality of those movies.

Obviously yes, I know several people enjoyed them and there's nothing wrong with that. But the general public, based on Rotten Tomatoes liked MOS better than the Hulk or IM2. I'm not talking about the lame critics but the general public.

Now that you add in Batman people will go in line demanding that someone takes their money for the movie. It may suck, it may not but it will definitely make money to justify a Justice League.

Undergrad marketing students couldn't even find a way to mess it up.

The general public needs to try new things instead of relying on Superman & Batman for the superhero movies.

After this casting choice I'm really not sure it will make much more than MOS. A lot of people just aren't hyped up for this anymore.

Of course the first trailer might change all that. (I think the TDK hype really began after the first trailer).

But people were always hyped for Avengers, and there was never once any negative backlash for it as far as I remember. Plus we already knew how great RDJ, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans were in their roles.

The only changed actor was Mark Ruffalo. There was a bit of hate talk for that, but nothing on this level. And let's face it Ruffalo was never going to ruin the character since there still had not been a really successful and loved version Bruce Banner/Hulk on the big screen anyway. In fact the Avengers version was probably the first time that happened on the big screen.

Oh and I'm not convinced at all that just the name "Batman" is a guaranteed Half Billion. Batman Begin did not make that much. It's Nolan's Batman franchise that was so popular over the last few years Imo, and not just the name.

You think he will send it to Schumacher days? No offense, Bruce, I think you may be overreacting. How will Affleck playing Batman bring back the Bat-Credit-Card and ice pun cheesiness of Schumacher's films, which has nothing to do with the acting?

Just remember Ledger. Nobody wanted him as the Joker, and now he's iconic in the role. Same for Tom Hardy as Bane. They can pull of anything as long as the script is right, especially with a great Oscar-winning actor like Affleck, who is great if the script is right

Ok. I'm feeling a lot better about this now.

I think DC will be successful in their endeavors.

But I think it is important for Marvel, for DC to be successful. Competition is always good. People love to take sides, like in a football game, it's a great cinematic pass-time: DC Vs Marvel.
