Yes, I'm saying they've always played themselves no matter what movie they've starred in.

Then you would be wrong especially when it comes to Depp......maybe nowaday's he's playing the same sort of stuff except for a few exceptions (Public Enemies, Rum Diaries, 21 Jump Street cameo, few others) regardless of what you think about this movies.

LOL at Cruise playing the same character in every film. Depp as well. I guess you think Edward Scissorhands acts the exact same way as Jack Sparrow?

Or Depp's character in Donnie Brasco is the same as Willy Wonka.

It really tells you the amount of butthurt one has when someone accuses one of the (if not the) most versatile actors of this generation of being one-dimensional.

My point being is that everybody is saying Ben Affleck's improved as an actor & to give him more credit now that he's a director as well.
That's like saying Affleck never gave 100%...until now.

Whether Depp is Edward or Jack, he's still playing the same generic character with quirky traits...that's really no stretch of acting abilities is it?

Donnie Brasco to Wonka...well for starters, Depp played Donnie straight considering it's based on a real life FBI informant...as for Wonka, that wasn't acting, that was just downright a creepy performance.

Being famous for playing drunk & drug addicted characters in a comical way doesn't exactly scream versatile.

It was downright Michael "Don't trust him around kids" Jackson-creepy.

Whereas "wit" is defined as intelligent humour.

Edward and Jack are polar opposites of each other. They are in no way "the same generic character"

Have you seen Argo?

First off, those accusations against Jackson were never proven. Secondly, at no time did Wonka give off a pedo vibe. He was just a guy with an eccentric obsession of making candy.

At Esau

Let me guess your one of these people, Who have stopped calling a black board a black board because it might offend coloured people.

Mort Rainey was a comical drug addict? John Dillinger as well? Color me shocked! 😑

And yet you're leaving out the more famous drunk/drug addled characters that made Depp famous & rich....

Name five (and don't say Jack Sparrow)
