Maybe. But it's no certainty IMO.

Batman and Superman are the 2 big draws for DC. So this might be their biggest movie for a long while. Especially since they're not going the Marvel route giving all the heroes a solo movie building up to JL

Also remember Age of Ultron didn't do as well as A1. Despite A1 being really well recieved. So simply being a sequel to a well received movie won't necessarily cut it.

I'm not saying every DC movie is going to get 200 M OW or anything, but there are certain tentpole movies like Justice League which I think will increase over BVS, if it's a smash hit. It's going to be the Flash, Cyborg, WW, GL, etc... all in the same movie. It'll be huge.

Also, here is El Miyambe's breakdown from Periscope earlier:

https://www.periscope.tv/w/aafJizg3MTQ2OXwxTW54bmJCUEx2TXhPtRkWyW9rXH4Zl4AF0inC5NeINubG2dt4bAsb4k0AJDM=

BvS has 23% First Choice, and AOU had 30+% First Choice. In the other hand, JW had 16% First Choice three weeks before the film came out. Still think that's an indication that my prediction of over TDKR is a good shot, Umberto thinks that TDKR did $167m ow, but it did $160m. I think $165m would be astonishing for a kickstart of the DCEU and a great first step to bigger things with the Justice League.

Updating as I watch:

88% total awareness

89% with males under 25

93% with men all ages

87% with females under 25

84% with females over 25

Definite interest: 62%

Definite interest males under 25: 70%

Definite interest females under 25: 54%

In comparison, Man of Steel only had an 11% first choice.

My point is though how much of your GA are excited for Flash, Cyborg, GL, given the lack of solo films (well GL had one but he might not even be in JL part 1).

We already would have seen WW together with Batman and Superman in BvS. So JL might just seem like a sequel to BvS, with new heroes added.

Point is Don't expect it to be same hype as Avengers without building it up the way Marvel did. I personally think this could be their Avengers. And JL the sequel.

It really depends on the buzz after BVS. If it does well, then people will look forward to WW, Aquaman, Flash, etc... Their movies will do better and JL will be equally as big, if not more so. It's way too early either way.

There's less build up than there should be, imo.

Also, grumble grumble Aquaman.

On reflection...to the days I collected & read comics. If I wanted a story with action, witty dialogue & funny one-liners, I'd read Marvel.

If I wanted a serious, gritty & dramatic scenarios, I'd read DC.

So Whedon suits Marvel, especially The Avengers franchise.
While Snyder IMO is the apt choice to bring Supes & Bats together.

I mean watching the Avengers films, there was never the sense that the world was in danger. The Avengers would save the day & still be able to crack the witty banter whilst doing so.

Yeah I'm hoping for witty banter too in BVS, but I'm hoping the seriousness of the storyline will be the focus & thus more believable.

Yah, BvS IS DC's version of Avengers. They don't have quite the amount of heroes, or at least they're not all gonna be fighting one threat at the end like Avengers 1. But it's still DC's Avengers. Justice League is basically their AOU.

Dunno if anyone posted this, but Jenna Malone (Barbara Gordon) had her scenes cut from the movie, but they will be put back in to the R-Rated directors cut when it comes out on DVD/BR.

I wonder if this is an indirect hint at some Killing Joke type stuff.

Exactly. And JL being their AOU is a good comparison given both those movies are/were the sequel to the prior ensemble movie and both will/did introduce new heroes without any prior solo film build up.

But as we saw with AOU, introducing new heroes in that way may not improve on the box office return of the previous film.

Calm down.

FYI I never once said the movie sucks or I don't like it. Whilst many people here actually did say that.

I'm calm.

Merely pointing out that you were incorrect.

What makes you think future films will do better than BvS?

Zach doesn't want to us to think his job at WB is on the line if this underperforms.. I do not believe it will but one never knows these things

Furious 7 was lame.

Indeed it was.

How is BVS WB'S Avengers and not JL?

Sweet TV Spot. Should be playing in March Madness.

Because it's the DCU's first team-up movie. It's got the marketing push and the financing behind it as well. It's the most hyped DC movie of all time. It's DC's Avengers. JL, as I said, is their AOU.

Hmm, I guess, but it's not really heavily marketed that way. At least not on the level of Avengers, but you already stated that. The only marking push that was similar to the Avengers was the second trailer, which was aimed for the general audience. Other than that, the marketing has been heavily emphasized on Batman V Superman.

I think you guys are getting ahead of yourselves, because we don't know how JL will be marked. It could be on the same grand scale as Avengers and IF BVS is a hit, JL will probably do more at the box office, especially when the general audience sees the biggest DC characters on one screen together, which is how it will probably be marketed. Way too early to call BVS the most hyped DC movie. Justice League could be that way. And knowing Warner's marketing, I bet that it will be.

Honestly Cyborg's and Aqua man's inclusions ****ing suck.

I've never had any interest in them as characters, and I hope they detract minimally from the action between Supes, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

I'm saying it's currently the most hyped movie. Of course logic would dictate that JL will be more hyped; assuming BvS is Avengers level good.
