On its own however critical praise is kind of worthless. Just look at Superman Returns- Praised by critics, but didn't get much response from audiences. Result- no sequels, and Singer gets fired.

It was. We had the entire film spoiled before the second trailer even came out which was over nine months before the film released.

Got some reactions from the people on Collider Heroes. No one on the panel has seen the movie, but two of them know people who have._

John Campea's contact says he LOVED the movie, but was worried that some people might think Batman is too dark. Apparently when Batman fights bad guys, he makes you believe that he is going to straight-up murder them (though he doesn't).

Robert Meyer Burnett also knows someone who he thought would have HATED the movie (because he was a big fan of the lighthearted versions of the characters from the past), but ended up liking it. Had some complaints about CGI and_fights maybe going on too long,_but said he couldn't help but enjoy it.
