Sad that over 1 night everybody has quickly forgotten the overwhelmingly positive praise this was getting from fans and audiences. The power of critics on the weak minded... It's like a Jedi Mind trick..

I will judge for myself soon. And at least try to enjoy the Batman parts.

Actually Golgo pointed out from day 1 critics generally don't like Snyder. Critics generally do have their own politics going on.

But ignoring that, why are you listening to the reviews of critics/press over audience/fan reactions? Why have you already decided the only good thing about this will be Batman, when audiences have been praising Wonder Woman and Jesse Lex as well?

From everything that I have read and from the footage I have seen, I believe that I will be entertained by the movie but I will also find issues with it. I despised MOS so I'm hoping Snyder does somewhat better here.

It's got 36% on Rotten tomatoes, it's getting mixed/average reviews from critics which isn't surprising at all and I think critics are blaming Snyder's directing

Stuckmann gave BVS a C+. He said it wasn't a bad movie, but some of the setups were forced. He thought Ben, Gal, and Irons were fantastic as well as the action scenes. Said Eisenberg and Cavill were fine and not terrible. I generally like and agree with his stuff, so this kind of sucks.

Nothing that praises TDK can be legitimate in my eyes.

Watched Stuckmann and Jahns reviews this morning. They're both guys I generally trust, but I'm still reserving judgment until I see the final movie.

What cautious optimism I had is fading though.

I like the idea, though I don't think they want Batman (in live action at least) on anything other than the big screen, which is a shame as there's much more of his kind of material you could cover in a series/show than a two or three hour movie. I've reluctantly accepted that the Gotham show's the closest we'll get to that.

There is The Batman (other cartoon from early 2000's or so) that's on there now, but it's rather meh compared to the original animated series, though still enjoy it in certain areas.

Sigh....this, if true, REALLY sucks. This is going to be a movie SPOILER so don't look if you don't want to know....

It seems not only did Snyder hear the criticism of Superman's willingness to kill.....he embraced it...in the opposite direction.

Apparently, both Superman AND Batman kill criminals in this movie.....kill them. Supposedly there is a terrorist with a gun to Lois's head and instead of disabling the guy Superman just kills him. This is really pathetic and I'm pissed at Snyder for this. I guess he wants this dark, bleak world of his to be just that....even with World's Finest.

Don't those guys generally agree with critical consensus? Except they just make jokes out of the movies faults?

Fan reaction is still strong for this movie. That doesn't change due to critics slamming it (apart from those who get brainwashed by critics).

Still I agree with being "cautiously" optimisitic at this point.

Because it seems to be a Hate it or Love it divisive film.

I've found my tastes align with theirs a lot of the time. Not always, but still.

I'm sort of getting an idea of how the movie will go in my head, and barring any surprises, I think I already know what I'm going to think of it. I hope I'm surprised, though.

It's a nice thing if critics like it, but only fools let critics decide for them.

I mean TDKR also has a ridiculously high score on RT, and you can't tell me that film wasn't met by mixed response from audiences.

Also Superman Returns was praised by critics, but who goes on about that? No one. Because the movie sucked and was a financial failure to boot. The fans spoke through their wallet and didn't care what praise the critics gave it.

I watched a spoiler review and, assuming the group of guys speaking about the film were being honest about the plot, the bad reviews might be legit.
