I predict it'll do MoS numbers in the box office

The OW isn't what WB needs to worry about- it's the follow-up, after word-of-mouth gets around.

I know people who saw the first Avengers and Jurassic World 5 or 6 times EACH. Are people going to do that with this film?

What's considered a bomb is relative these days. If the film makes 900 million than sure, that's pure profit for WB, but it's also a disappointment and casts doubt on the rest of the DCCU because if the first ever team-up of BATMAN and SUPERMAN, two of the most popular comic book hero's in history, is only pulling in 900 million or so then what does that say about the lesser IP's that DC is planning on rolling out?

I hope the spoilers are false because if true it means Snyder is a bigger retard than the haters give him credit for. 😬
Yah. I don't think they are because multiple sites have confirmed this. The fact that Snyder made
Spoiler:
Batman AND Superman both killers is a travesty. I mean, MY GOD, it's like he tried to ruin the movie. Why not just stick to what works. Make Batman a brooding dude but NOT A KILLER. Have Superman lighten up a little bit. I'm not asking for Avengers level light-heartedness; but let's inject a little hope and humor into this DCU. The fact that it's SO dark and they're killers on top of it all rubs people the wrong way.

I know it's a good number, but the initial projections and expectations were higher for this film. This was supposed to be a blockbuster of blockbuster films. If it doesn't break the $200M threshold for it's opening weekend and doesn't put up, say, Deadpool to Hunger Games level numbers, wouldn't those expectations make this a failure?

Yes.

Yep.

If this doesn't make a billion that spells trouble for WB's plans.

I think this will easily match MOS.

Having enjoyed MOS for what it was, and since I actually liked Watchmen (minus the blue dong stuff) If this flick is close to both we should enjoy it on most levels.

The authentic plot has leaked.

I'm not going to post a spoiler, but a certain group of comic fans on this site might need counselling after this weekend.

lol

Honestly - biggest concern going in has to be Eisenberg.

I thought that was going to be the biggest concern. Then I foolishly spoiled certain aspects of the movie for myself. I'm still gonna watch it but I'm not happy about the spoilers...put it that way.

Well, I've linked a couple of reviews that contain spoilers in the last couple of pages. And there are youtube spoiler reviews up as well. Though, I don't know of a complete spoiler breakdown of the entire film.

Yeah, I don't even think there's a coming back from that.

Zach said He wanted to take some loose inspiration from TDKR. Ok. But ffs, this is going to be the fundation for the DCCU, I don't want the mainstream movie universe to be that phucking bleak.

Joe Shmoes says there is nothing there for children.

Then that will drastically effect the box office. Still think it's hitting $1Bill though when all is said and done.

That idiot John Schnepp has put his OW prediction down from 200+ to 125+ (So yeah he hates it).

But for these major blockbusters OW is more about hype and less about quality. Quality hits on the 2nd weekend.

John Campea the bigger twit has revised hi score and put it down from 8 to 7.5, and he's now saying Gal was bad in it.

Yah, I can't even begin to understand the reasoning behind this. This movie starts basically apologizing for the endng of MoS.... They purposefully integrate that ending and all the destruction into the focal point of the movie; which to be fair, was a brilliant move imo.

Where they go wrong is

Spoiler:
after spending all that freaking time acknowledging the mistakes of the violence of MOS....Snyder then has Bats and Supes become killers....It's like he's rubbing the violence in our faces. This isn't supposed to be the 1930's batman that is a murderer! This is supposed to be an amalgamation of the Batmen alot of us grew up with. Snyder doesn't give a shit apparently.

Too many bad reviews now. I'm starting to fear those early fan reactions were faked. Or they were just caught up in the hype of seeing the movie early.

Edit- To be fair general consensus seems to be the movie is "meh" not bad.

Or they're shills.

My feel was that most critics had decided they didn't like the movie before seeing it. Probably based on what they thought of MoS. I think loads of people have gotten used to the "fun" tone of the Marvel movies and just want more of that.
